Hello all! First time here – came across the site after hours of trying to match a headband with a dress and saw how helpful everyone is here! Also sorry if I totally butcher this/photos are way too big.
I am SO lost with trying to find a ribbon headband that goes with my style of dress! I’m not a girly girl and wanted a dress that’s a bit different. Problem is I have NO idea what style headband to match it (and obviously still want to look feminie on my big day). I also want to do ribbon because I get bad headaches from metal bands. Please enjoy my awkward pose:
Detail (at waist and on bow)
A helping friend noted the pearls, so started to go at that route. Here is my favorite so far:
I liked how this one is different:
And for the third one – I know that it’s sold, but I like the idea of it on how side – though worry if that’s too much since there’s a bow on one side of my dress?
If none of these work, that’s option number four. I’ve been looking for months, but feel like I’m getting no where – it’s so hard for me to pull the whole outfit together. Better yet if someone has a better suggestion, I would truly appreciate it.
Thank you SO much everyone. I tried to get my bridesmaids to help but not so much …

Pretty dress! I love the first headband. I think it will go well with the details in your dress!

I like the first one and the third one, however I voted for #1 here is why: You like it best. 🙂 And I think it will highlight your overall look for the day, as opposed to making another “statement” in your look, which your dress already has. Does that make sense? Highlight your gorgeousness rather than pull focus. 🙂

Welcome to the Hive!
First, you are gorgeous, and you look SO much like one of my “nieces” (one of my BFF’s daughters.) Your gown is beautiful, too!
I think your gut instinct is right on — I don’t like the idea of the third hair accessory, because your gown has a bow on the side. As for the other two, I think they’re both beautiful, and whichever you decide would be fine. For the record, however, although I find the second one to be more visually interesting, my gut instinct is that the way it’s divided into sections may actually be more distracting than the first option, which seems to flow so naturally from side to side without interruption and which is still quite stunning. So, I voted for the first option!

@Brielle: Aww, thanks so much! You actually made me blush haha. I agree with your thoughts on the second one – at first glance I loved how different it was, but the more I looked at it … meh, isn’t really me. Also like the simple pearl earrings and necklace with the first headband – think it’s something I could pull off since my intention was to get a dress that was a bit different and go easy on the rest.

@Americano: Ahh everyone is so nice here haha! Yes that totally makes sense – a big reason I like the bow with the dress was so that could be the main accessory focus and I didn’t have to get too crazy on everything else. So thanks for that reminder – I totally forgot even how my dress looked after hours and hours of looking at headbands … who knew it would be so tiring??

I think the first one compliments the dress because the dress has that belt. I think the second and third choice have similarities to the belt but distract rather than compliment.
