I’m surprising Darling Husband for his birthday to see his favorite band, and since I’m not sure what time the concert will be over (I’ve never been to a concert) I decided to book him a hotel room. And I can’t decide! What do you like better?
This hotel provides free continental breakfast and it’s $116. 42 for the night. It’s about 1-2 miles from the concert we’re going to, so we’d still probably need to get a taxi to take us there.
This one is the same price, free continental breakfast, and I believe the same distance from the concert:
And this is the final one that I’m looking at, it’s only three more dollars than the other two, however it’s five miles from the venue. We’ll have to get a taxi, so the cost will be more expensive due to taxi charges. So, I need opinions.

@SleepingWithNuns: I’d pick the Majestic Hotel, mainly because it has better reviews on Tripadvisor than the others do. Plus, it looks quite nice!

I’d go with the Westin. It looks the nicest, and it is on the Mag Mile, so you’ll have stuff to do when you get back/in the morning. Maybe you can take the subway on the way back to save a few bucks – it is pretty easy to navigate!

@SleepingWithNuns: Concerts usually last until 10:30-11 depending on the start time and how many opening bands there are. I’ve been to so many, I’ve lost count. What band is it?!
As for the hotel, I’d pick Westin. =)

@Rouquine: It’s Flogging Molly!! 🙂

Free breakfast is usually a pretty big incentive for my husband, haha.
Which one do you think feels most un-like somewhere you’d normally stay? Maybe pick the one that feels the most “special occasion”?
And what a great idea for a birthday present! He’ll love it. 🙂

if you can’t get a hotel in walking distance, pick one that has the most fun around it– you can go out for drinks afterward or find a nice brunch the next morning.
I’ve never really been a fan of hotel breakfasts– I’d rather go out somewhere– but that’s just personal preference.

@bookworm88: I totally agree with this! And Flogging Molly puts on a great show, I I checked the door times, that show will totally be over by 11pm.
