My fiance and I been thinking about where we want to go and considering our honeymoon will be in Sept. We are thinking about either Hawaii or Mexico, which you think is better for that month and which might have better all inclusive packages? Also which cities we should go and visit from either location.

Well I have been to both places and I prefer Hawaii. There is a lot to do, the scenery is beautiful and I just really enjoyed it a lot. If you’re looking for all inclusive resorts though, there is much more selection in Mexico.
If you decide to go to Mexico, I would go to the east coast (Cancun, Mayan Riviera, Playa del Carmen); the beaches and water are nicer plus if you’re near the Mayan you can see the ruins.

I think they’re both so different that it really depends what you’re after…
Hawaii is incomparably beautiful, but I don’t know how many all-inclusive options you would find. It feels so American but that same quality means you can safely go anywhere, rent cars, go hiking, communicate in English, etc. It can be a fair amount more expensive than Mexico. However, if you go Hawaii you should look into Molokai. It’s a beautiful island with very little tourism so you get to frequent small family owned restaurants and shops. Really neat to find a place with no chain stores so lots of culture, plus there are beaches that go on for miles with not a person in sight… so romantic.
Mexico would be great if you want to relax at an all-inclusive- not make decisions and just feel spoiled. You can also travel around and experience different lifestyle and language. You get a lot more bang for your buck and can probably stay somewhere swankier for a similar amount of $$ as compared to Hawaii. East coast of Mexico is pretty but I love the area on the west coast around Bucerias and Sayulita.
I think the big differences are how adventurous you want to be on your honeymoon and how safe you feel in foreign countries.
