@Ms.Pink:  If you like Magnolia, use it.  Don’t tell anybody the name you’ve picked until it’s on the birth certificate and official then they have to deal with it!

I think Lucy June is a more appropriate name for an adult than Elodie. I also get the feeling that Elodie is going to be far more popular in the coming years, so I would avoid the name for fear of her becoming “Elodie D”.

As for Magnolia, I’m not a fan of it, but Maggie is cute and works for both a young girl and an adult. If you refuse to use a nickname, however, I wouldn’t go with Magnolia.

I like Lucy June better than Elodie, mainly just because Elodie seems kind of trendy to me.

I can’t see an adult with any of those names.  I do like Magnolia best tho, Maggie would be cute.

I like Elodie.  But I feel like my likeness would be short lived so I voted for Lucy.  Would it just be Lucy or short for Lucia or Lucille?  If your favorite is Magnolia go with that.  Everyone is going to have some sort of opinion on names.  The only thing that should matter is that you and your DH love it.

I like Lucy Jane over Elodie. I also think that if you and DH like Magnolia go with it! It is your child, name it whatever YOU TWO want!

@Ms.Pink:  What about Elodie Magnolia?  I know a grown woman, who is French, and her name is Elodie.

@Ms.Pink:  Not a fan of Elodie personally because I, and many other Americans unfamiliar with the French name, would mistake it for Melody so she would constantly be correcting people when she introduces herself.  This can come off as rude or grumpy; two things you don’t want people to think when you are first being introduced to them.

@Ms.Pink:  I’ve never heard of Elodie before. Where does it come from & why would it be considered trendy, as another bee suggested?

I voted for Lucy June because Elodie reminds me of someone named Melodie that I don’t care for.

@Ms.Pink:  I chose Lucy because I had only ever heard of Melody (not Elodie) and it seems more timeless. I also really like Clara!
