Pretty simple. It’s okay if you don’t like either, DH and I do so we’re not REALLY gonna be affected too much. I would like to know the reason you might not like it. Like if you’re baby is named_______ kids will tease them and call them ______. lol.
ETA: It’s pronouced “A la.” I’m pretty sure DH and I made it up. Not really meaning to, but he loves it. I’m leaning towards Riley.

I chose Riley because Ayla kind of made me go “how the heck do i pronounce that porperly. Is that even a name?”

I voted for Riley. We’re (most likely) naming our daughter Riley. I think I like Riley Faith better than Riley Simone though.
I also chose Riley because I’m not sure how to pronounce Ayla.

@Swizzle: My exact reaction.
@MrsDiddles: Also, I think Riley is an adorable name.

i love ayla. i think it’s such pretty name.
and i’m assuming it’s pronounced I-la…? like the actress isla fisher

Ayla is a proper name actually. Per wiki it means:
Ayla is a common Turkish feminine name that means “halo of light around the moon.”
Ayla is a feminine Arabic name meaning “sublime” or “large”.
I knew someone growing up with that name. I’m pretty sure they pronounced it “I-la”.
Either way it’s a beautiful name but I voted for Riley just because I like the middle name Simone more then Faith.

I would avoid Ayla unless you want your daugther to be called Eye-La. With the increasing popularity of Isla (pronounced Eye-La), I think people will presume you tried to go with a better phonetic spelling of Isla.
I also like Riley Faith, even though that paring was not an option for the poll.

I voted for Ayla- but it was before I read and I had assumed you wanted to pronounce it Eye-La. Which I think is very pretty. But you may get a lot of people like me who want to pronouce the name differently than you had intended!

If you and your hub are set on the a-la pronunciation, I would consider changing the spelling because as PP have said, it reminds me of the spelling if Isla. Perhaps Ahla — although its not as pretty looking.
I voted Riley because I forsee less issues with pronunciation, etc. I also like Riley Faith as a name combo

i like both names. if you did pick riley, i prefer riley faith.

While I see from another poster that Ayla is a proper name, I wouldn’t have thought that just looking at it. For that reason I voted Riley.

I know an “Ayla” and she pronounces it “Aye-lah”. She also gets on my nerves so I chose Riley.
Riley is on our list of unisex names.
@Cory_loves_this_girl: Riley & Faith are both Joss Whedon characters on Buffy the Vampire Slayer 🙂

My cousin’s name is Ayla. We aren’t close (in relationship or proximity) so I’m not really sure how often it gets mispronounced. I prefer Riley, though.
