I’m bias, I had a snake named Ruby after the Kaiser Chief’s song. I used to sing that song to her all the time, not like she cared. haha. April just reminds me of April from Parks and Recreation, bone dry and hilarious, but not catlike.

Maybe not the best person to ask. I think pets should have awesome names and April or Ruby just seem so plain… Between them, I like Ruby better, but neither is that great or catlike to me. My cat’s Stormageddon: Dark Lord of All, snake is Lunch, and whenever we get a dog, he’ll be Phyto, like Phytoplankton/Fido. I also think you should see which name you feel better about calling out. When you’re trying to track it down and call for it, does Ruby or April come easier? Same goes with getting after her. Does stern, authoritative April or Ruby work?

My Nana’s cat’s name is Ruby, so I voted for that :). It’s a great idea to give your kitty a cute, short name that she’ll get used to quickly. I’m super excited to see a pic of your little girl when you get her 🙂

I love Ruby! You can get her a cute little red sparkle collar to match her name!

@Carlasgettingmarried:  I didn’t vote.  But usually I wait to see what kind of personality they have and then name them.  I agree with PP I like to pick something unusual.  I have one name Chubby Super Chunk, and the other named Little Miss Sassy Pants.  Sorry I am not much help…..

@Carlasgettingmarried:  They are pretty names, but they are plain. Most cats I’ve known are more derp than dignified. Also, he’s an evil villain cat and it’s a Dr Who reference. No made up names.

once you meet your new kitten you’ll know which name suits her best. also when you meet your new kitten please post pics!

you shouldn’t take my advice though.. we tried to name our cats a few times but nothing stuck, we call our black cat Mr. Black and our brown cat Mr. Brown.
