Ok girls...I'm in a pickle. I bought Dress #1 less than a month after we got engaged. It was a good price, I liked it a lot and my mom and aunt cried so I got it. Soon afterwards, I started doubting my choice. I basically fell out of love with the dress. Then I saw the Amsale Tyler (Dress #2) back in Septemeber, and ever since then can't get it out of my head. Finally was able to take some pics of me in it and now I ask you girls - which dress do you like more? Should I sell my old dress and buy the Amsale?
Wow. Tough choice!! They both look great on you! But they are very different dresses. Which one is more "you"? (My gut reaction is that I like the second one better...but maybe it's because you look happier in it.) :)
I prefer the first one on you, but I agree with august15bride that you look happeir in the second. You're only gonna do this once, so I think you should go with the dress that really makes you happy.
I am having a hard decision myself so I feel your pain, but I actuallky just tried the Angelique dress on yesterday and I can tell you that it is gorgeous! They both look great on you, but I agree I think you look happier in the Amsale one. The first one does seem a little more "bridal" in my opinion. Good luck!
Since I like "bling", I love the first one, although they are both beautiful! The first one looks good for a more formal wedding, while the second one I think would be perfect for an outdoor wedding. But I don't think you can go wrong with either one!
I love, love, love the first one! I think it has a somewhat "classic" and timeless look about it. I'd stick with it. I've had dress doubts too (I bought my dress really early in our engagement) but I know it will be the right one in the end!
I agree with the rest, both look good on you, and both are very pretty dresses but totally different styles. What look are you going for? The first dress is a bit more formal and traditional. But you also look much more relaxed and comfortable in the second dress. Think about what want to look like on your day, hope the decision making gets easier.
I think you look fantastic in the dress you've already purchased. I had the same problem since I bought mine recently, hard not to want to look at others since I still have over 9 months to go! Go with what feels right, your FI will think you look stunning no matter what. The first one shows what a tiny waist you have!
That is a hard decision! Just my own personal style, I love the Amsale. Also, the fact that you "fell out of love" with the other dress, and you can't stop thinking about the Amsale, makes me think that you should switch. You need to wear the dress that makes you happy and you love! They are both beautiful, so either way, you will look amazing! :) good luck!!!!
i didn't read the story, i went straight for the pix and voted and chose dress 2, it's stunning on you, with that said the first dress is pretty as well so i'm not sure.. do you think you could sell the first one? i would perhaps try to sell it and then purchase the second versus purchasing the second one first.

!!!! You look stunning and have that bridal glow in it (although you look gorgeous in both!)
firstly, you look beautiful in both so its just a fashion choice for me. i really like the style of #1 dress but you see this on many brides so i voted for dress #2 because when i first saw it i literally held my breath and thought "oh how romantic" and you look so soft and glowing
which dress will suit the style of your wedding most?
The dress you bought is beautiful and looks fantastic on you. Sorry but the Amsale is just meh to me. If you take the designer name out of it, to me it's just an ordinary white dress with a belt. Also, I think the first dress makes your waist look thinner. But of course like everyone else said it's you who must love the dress.
I've been dealing with dress doubts since I ordered mine so I understand. I have a fantastic dress that I think is prettier than anything out there but I just can't love it on me and I worry that I'll never shake that feeling off. But when everyone else looks at my pics and tells me I made the right choice, it makes me think maybe they know what they're talking about and that I'm being crazy :). I'd suggest stepping back and taking an objective look at both dresses like you're looking at it on another girl. You may decide you still love your original dress more . Maybe you thought of the Amsale dress for so long it affected your feelings for the first dress but in reality that's still the dress for you?
What a tough decision! They are both so beautiful on you. If you are looking for a classic look, go with the first one. If you are going for a more soft, romantic look, the second one is for you. Personally, I prefer the second. Here's why: the first dress is a very typical-every-bride dress. The second one, is more memorable (in my opinion) from the spectator's perspective. Either way you'll be a beautiful bride though!
The Amsale gown is pretty, but doesn't flatter your shape like the Anjolique
i love the amsale! even though i don't know you, but i feel that dress is so YOU :)
I love the second dress, but i think it depends what sort of vibe you are going for at your wedding.
The first dress looks more formal and classic, the 2nd dress looks more romantic and fun.
Both are gorgeous, just different. I think the dress could set the feel for the wedding.
Just for those wondering, the wedding will take place at a winery - outdoor ceremony and indoor reception.
i agree with everyone else. depends on the feel of the wedding. both look great on you.
Hands down the 2nd one - although I am biased cuz I am an Amsale bride :) Honestly both look amazing on you, so it's a matter of personal style. Let us know which one you pick!
they're both beautiful and look fantastic on!!! I voted for #1 but I would also consider what type of wedding you're having - a more formal evening reception I think would warrant #1, and a garden wedding or something a little less formal would call for #2.
You look DEVINE in the 2nd. SOoooooo pretty with your skin tone and shape and everything!!!
I personally like dress 1 on you, I think its a beautiful dress. But after describing your wedding, it being outdoor and at a winery I think Tyler would fit that better than the first one.
I LOVE dress two, the style, the look, how it looks on you and I think it will be perfect for your outdoor winery ceremony as well.
They both look beautiful, but the real question is will you be able to sell #1?
If money and the selling of the dress were not in question, I would say the Amsale, no question!!! I love it!! The other one is fine, kind of a typical wedding dress, in my opinion, but the look of the Amsale is just gorgeous!
HOWEVER, selling your dress to fund a new one is easier said than done. Would you be willing to buy the new dress even if you couldn't sell the old one? Or could only sell it for a lower price than you paid? I would not bank on selling the old one to finance the new one but if money's not at the heart of the issue, then I say go for the Amsale, it will be perfect for your winery wedding!
My personal taste has me voting for the Amsale dress. I also think it would go great with your venue. However, the Anjolique is also nice and you do look great in it. I think the two dresses just have different looks to them, but you certainly couldn't go wrong with either one.
I agree with trailmix that it is probably easier said than done to sell your wedding dress, and if you do sell it, you might not recoup anywhere near what you spent. For me a lot of my decision would depend on how comfortable I felt with forking out the extra money for the Amsale dress after I had already purchased one dress.
I voted for the Anjolique - much more flattering to your waist and hips.
They are so different though and both are very pretty.
Totally go for the Amsale. I think you will regret it if you don't. I was a three dress bride, did the same thing you did and bought my first dress because it was a 'good price.' Being practical and buying a wedding gown because it is a "good price" is just not a good idea. I am so glad I bought another gown... :-)
Get the Amsale!!!!!! HANDS DOWN!
Oh gosh, I LOVE the Amsale! I think that if it's not too much of a hassel/cost to you, you should get it and never look back. However, if it is going to break your budget, force you to make compromises, or add too much extra stress to buy a second dress, then rest assured that the first gown does look lovely on you, so you really can't go wrong here.
ps: that first gown picture is from Elegant Lace in Almaden/San Jose, isn't it? I bought my dress there!
Wow you look so beautiful in the second dress!!! Its so delicate and pretty. LOVE IT!
get number two. that is an amaazing dress!!! and you look like your happier in that one as well based on the picture. mplus if you've been thinking of it for that long its the one!
I voted for the 2nd dress because it makes you happier! It Beautiful too.
Wow, I was surprised to see so many votes for 2. I think it is a cool dress and you look great in it but the first one looks FANTASTIC on you. I vote 1 all the way!
They both look great on you, but you look much happier in dress #2 so that is what I voted for!
