We have been engaged since the beginning of April and are having trouble finding a venue for the ceremony/reception still. We have a place we are going to look at this weekend – catch is, if we did an October 6th, 2012 wedding, it would be half the cost there, versus the July 2013 we were orginally thinking. Do you all think that about 4 months would be way too quick to plan a full ceremony/reception, and be able to get vendors for all of the necessaries (photog., DJ, etc)? Thanks for any advice! I don’t have any problem with waiting until next summer, it would just save us half of the site fee to do this fall.

Do you have a preference over a summer or fall wedding? If you have always envisioned something, then I may suggest holding out until you can do that but if the date doesn’t change much other than the money, I say go for it! It’s not a cheap day at all so if an off-peak date helps curb this then awesome!! 4 months isn’t a ton of time but it’s totally doable. If you have specific vendors that you MUST have (like a photog or caterer or something) then maybe you should check with them first to confirm their availability. And make sure to order your dress early! Hope it all works out for you, let us know what you decide and HAPPY PLANNING!
