i've tried a few and like adoramapix the best. the paper quality and lay flat pages are great.
I've only used Shutterfly, but there were some things I didn't like about it that were unclear to me before I purchased it. They number each page and I never found a way to remove the numbers and there's a barcode on the back cover. The quality was very nice otherwise.
I have used shutterfly and picaboo and I was really happy with both results.
I am going to use picaboo for my wedding album because I preferred the flexibility and backgrounds available with the software. I also preferred using the software on my computer opposed to shutterfly's online program which was slower. And Picaboo also has a new book that has the thick lay flat pages that I am going to get when I do my wedding album.
No personal experience. But from word of mouth as well as industry reviews and comparisons, it sounds like AdoramaPix is the standout. It's a tiny bit more expensive, but the quality is supposed to be amazing, the spines lay flat, and they allow every feature you could want. I'll put it this way - I've done a lot of research, and I will be ordering my wedding albums from them.
