So far, these 2 photographers are my favourite.
Which would you choose?
1 – http://milton-photography.com/
$3950, 2 photographers for 10 hours plus an engagement session, USB with print rights included
This photographer pretty much only does weddings, so she does have more wedding experience. She’s been a great help giving me venue and vendor reccomendations, and very kind while doing so (as if she doesn’t expect me to hire her just for helping me out, which is really really nice of her).
This photographer also offers a live photo booth for $400, which we wouldn’t be able to get from the other photog.

$2750, 2 photographers for 10 hours plus an engagement session, Disc with print rights included
or $3500, 2 photographers for 10 hours plus an engagement session plus a 20 page 12×12 luxury album, disc with print rights included
This photographer is our “family” photographer so to say. I’ve seen her build her business from the ground up and has transformed into an incredible photographer. She mostly does family and couples sessions though, and is still building her wedding portfolio (IMO, compared to other photogs). I do like the idea that she could be with us to capture every big moment of our lives. Plus, I know her pretty well and she’s very straight forward and down to earth.

@Brittanyg20: both have beautiful work, but I would go with the company that specializes in weddings. Personally I wouldn’t get the photobooth, because I’m not a fan of them, but as the PP stated, if you have the budget for it, and you and your fiancé like them, then go for it!

I like the first one ten times better.
But… the poses are boring and , well, too posed. His editing is natural Which is good
Its a nice choice, but not amazing imo

@Brittanyg20: It depends what you want in a package. How important is each componet to the packages. Do you want an engagement session and photo albums for later? Is the photo booth important to you? Find out if either photographers are available for your wedding dates (they usually are the first to book up fast) than look at each package and determine whats important to you. Figure out whose style of photos you like better and what you want in your package. Maybe you’ll like the wedding photographer better but she doesn’t include stuff in the package that you might want. Our photographer told us to figure out what we wanted in our package and they could help us customize if it weren’t listed. Its a tough call and I didn’ vote as both photographers have different styles which makes it hard to like just one so if I were you I’d just pick the package that suits my needs. Either photographer you can’t go wrong!!

@Brittanyg20: If you have the budget for the first photographer, I would say go with him. The family photographer has good prices, and as you said it would be cool for her too take pictures of your wedding…but if you aren’t 100% positive that you want her to do it…then I vote keep looking for now. I do love the added photo booth, since FI and I want one, but aren’t sure if it will fit in our budget (cheapest we’ve found in $800 for 3 hours).

@Brittanyg20: Milton. I’d add the photobooth, too.

@Mez03: Well I’m indifferent to the album. As we can have one made later for a lot cheaper. Though I understand hers would be better quality, I just want to be able to buy a few for $500+ rather than just one. I know her pretty well though and she would probably give me a deal without me even asking. Shes good friends with my sisters, they helped her start her business.
I’ve been told by photographer friends that the engagement session is really for you to get to know the photographer so you understand how she’ll pose you and tell you what looks good.
As for whats included in the package, they both offer 2 photographers for 10 hours, a disc with all images edited, and an engagement session. The main difference is one costs $1200 more and has more wedding experience. But the other I’ve know for a year or 2, I’ve done a couples shoot with her last year and a family session with her this year. She’s our go-to for family and baby pictures in our family, and I do think it would be cool for her to be there for all our major moments, she could do our wedding, then our maternity, then newborn, etc.
Maybe I’ll do a “trash the dress” with her or something. Except I refuse to trash my dress so it will be more of a “rock the dress” lol
@Astra: @hazyleyedbeauty: I do still have quite a bit of time.. My wedding isn’t until July 2015. I doubt they’re even booking yet.
Do you ladies think that having a “live” photobooth, people wouldn’t be as silly? This is my main worry. Regular photobooths are insanely expensive here too.. I think the cheapest I’ve seen is $500 (but only for like 2 hours..which is unrealistic). My friend had a photobooth (no actual photographer “working” it though. And it was SO fun. I have so many pictures from it. It was kind of nice cause her DJ was an asshole (had a song request form, when the only people that were dancing would request songs, he wouldn’t play them..he cleared the dancefloor more than once)..So we had somewhere to run to and fun until he put on better songs.
