Hi, I’m after a diamond set platinum wedding ring. I’ve found two that I love, one of them is from wedding rings direct and comes in at hundreds of pounds cheaper than the equivalent in a local jewellers however only comes with a one year guarantee. The one from the local jewellers comes with a 10 year guarantee including unlimited cleaning and checking of the settings. They are both the same metal, (platinum) and the diamond weight and quality is practically identical, what are people’s thoughts? I think at a push I prefer the ring from WRD but does it really matter that it only has a 1 year guarantee? Do people know if and how much it would cost to take into a local jeweller to be cleaned and settings checked? Or for peace of mind is it better to go with one from a local jewellers who offer the longer guarantee incase of loose diamonds and cleaning?
And as I’m so indecisive, which ring do you bees prefer?
Would love to hear your thoughts ladies!! Thanks

I really like them both. You can’t go wrong either way! But if I had to choose I would pick B because I think the milgrain gives your set more detail.

I prefer the appearance of ring A. I personally would get the one I love and IF it needed repair (not a guarentee it will) I’ll pay for it after the one year. But day to day, I’d much rather have the ring I love more.

Honestly they look about the same, I like a cut on the side

Wow, I was staring at these two pics for the longest time, trying to figure out what the difference was between them and then realized you were talking about the wedding band and not the e-ring. I’m officially an idiot.
I like the second, but that’s because I’m not a fan of milgrain. A year warranty isn’t all that much considering the life of the ring, so I would just get the one you like more.

Ha ha GridMonster, now that did make me laugh.
Thanks for all you input ladies! I’m still undecided, think I’ve been staring at the pics too long now!

TheGridMonster: I did the same thing!
I really like ring B – I think it suits the e-ring more!

I picked A because I think the diamonds stand out more in that setting vs. the channel set. But they are both pretty!

Where’s the miligrain on the second? I cant see it. Only the beads/claws? Holding the diamonds in. I like both so I am of now help. Sorry!

I would go with the local jeweler for the security of the guarantee and to support the local economy. My e-ring is from a local jeweler, and we have been very satisfied.

I like the first band better. I am a huge milgrain lover. 🙂

It looks like the first one is shared prong and the second not. I like the shared prong because the diamonds look bigger without the extra metal.

Go for the more expensive with better warrany. Lil diamonds fall out all the time it seems on this board.
