I think it depends a lot on you and how you're planning to wear them. Personally, I'm planning on wearing my <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold">wedding ring forever, but I might decide to wear it alone at some point. So, I would not want the engagement ring as my wedding band because I'd rather have a band, and wearing the rings we exchange at our wedding is important to me. But I know it's not important to everyone in that same way.
I say if you like the E-ring - get it ! If you think now that you want it, you will probably want it a year from now and 5 years from now. If it is in your budget and FI goes for it - I say get it! And if you still want the second band, you could always ask for that for a Christmas/birthday/anniversary present in the future!
Aww! They are both beautiful. I would consider getting the e-ring. It is gorgeous. However, you could always wait to get it for a first year anniversary present. My sister in law wanted a diamond band for a wedding ring and had to wait a year. It was well worth the wait!
I love the two-band look! I myself went that route. if you know what you want, speak up! Or regret it! If he's bought the band, why don't you upgrade at your 1-yr anniversary, then retire your plain band for certain occassions? Like when you travel and don't want a big flashy diamond.
Oh, geesh, ignore my vote. I misunderstood completely!!!!!!
You HAVE a "WEDDING" band. I say you get the E-ring (if you can afford it, I know hearts on fire ain't cheap!) as your WEDDING RING! HOoray! Best of both worlds. Just reverse.
I was thinking you had the top ring bought, you had the e-ring, and you wanted a different style wedding band. I meant "two of the same bands" because I have two wedding bands sandwiching my engagement ring. You could do that, too!
@MrsK2be: I think you're right, if I want it now, i'll prob want it in the future as well.
@ejs4y8: I like the "sandwiching" look as well! Maybe i'll request a third band later as an anniversary gift :)
Hooray! I love the sammich look. Just love it. People look at me weird when I say i'll have three rings (it sounds high maintenance, doesn't it?) but it looks SOOOOoooooo good together. The symmetry!!! I'm such an engineer sometimes
I think if you like the e-ring and can afford it, get it! My friend has the same pair (or something v. similar) and they are very pretty!
Oooh I love the look of two bands and an engagement ring too :) My vote is get the e-ring and then get another band later too!! :)
You sound like you really want the e-ring, so I say go for it because it's kind of now or never, he might not be willing to get it down the road!

So I'm in a pickle...
I have this band (the top picture). Since I told my FI before he proposed that all I wanted was a band, and NO center diamond, this is what he got me! Its absolutely beautiful! I was originally planning on getting the same band as our "wedding band" to go along-side it. BUT--- in true bride fashion, I took a peak at the actual "enagagement ring" that goes with my band and I LOVE it too! Now I can't decide which to get...They are both Hearts on Fire and sparkle like crazy!!!
Should I get two of the same bands or get the engagement ring that goes with my band? Obviously, the band is cheaper than the engagement ring, but I like them both soooo much! Which would you choose???
