I’ve decided to get a sapphire ring since I can’t seem to find a band with sapphires that goes with my solitaire.
I’ve narrowed it down to these 2.
The first ring is set in white gold but seems a bit too blingy.
The second ring is set in silver and is perfect but I’m worried about the tarnish. The ring only has a small space of metal at the bottom.

I think the oval is stunning! Ring #1!!

sebolelo1: Ring 1 is so beautiful! Could you have the band reduced to just one band, then add on the other two as wedding rings later?
Love the sapphire on you!

The wedding is later this month and will only wear the ring as is on the day. I do think the ring would be nicer if the band was thinner. @RhianfaHW

I prefer the square shape on your hand.

I like the square shape – it does suit you – but if it’s made out of silver I would go with the oval ring. Both are beautiful but I do think gold is more durable than silver.

I think the oval looks best on you and I would definitely go with w/g over silver. I have one silver ring I got in May and it is SO tarnished already and I don’t even wear it that much…
Honestly, don’t worry about it looking “too blingy”. You will get used to it after a while.

SunflowerGarden: I definitely think ill regret not getting the white gold as soon as the ring starts to tarnish. I’m going to get a plain yellow gold band for situations I won’t be comfortable wearing the ring. Thanks, your comment was really helpful. 🙂
womanofsubstance: I actually hadn’t tried on squire rings until I saw this ring. I think its quiet nice, and I’d definitely go for it if it was set in white gold.

Both rings are beautiful and both the oval and square shapes look lovely on you!
I would go with the oval only because it’s gold. I don’t think it’s blingy at all! You carry it off very well!

I like #2 better but the fact that it’s silver makes me think #1 is a better choice. Silver will tarnish unless you get it rhodium dipped frequently but if your going to spend money on that you might as well just spend the extra cash on the white gold ring.

mrssloan2013: I decided to get a quote for the second ring in white gold. The first ring is starning but I’m not sure it’s a practical choice. The ring might be an import which will mean I will only have it after the wedding in November, which I really don’t mind. Ill just get my stand in a get married using it.
