Hello everyone! I recently posted a help question on how I can improve on a surprise picnic proposal for my girlfriend.

    http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/im-a-guy-planning-a-proposal-end-of-this-month-oct-i-need-help-from-the-hive

As the Oct 29th proposal gets closer and closer, I get more and more excited and PARANOID something might go wrong!

I already bought her this ring and even had it engraved. I think it's a lovely design because my gf likes classy with a touch of vintage design.

Now I'm thinking..."That might be too vintage! Maybe I should go more simple.."

I know I may be just overthinking a lot here. Guys who are in love are like that and I'm a bit of a romantic. I'm leaning more towards the one I already bought. Maybe I should just stick to what my gut is telling me.

Thanks in advance everyone! This is an awesome site! I will tell Amber to join for sure after I propose to her!

I love the first ring!!!  Dont get me wrong both rings are beautiful!!!!  But everyone rethinks the major purchases in life.  I think that is pretty normal =)

Personally, I actually like the first ring more. But thats just my opinion.

I say go with your gut.

No no no.  The first ring is STUNNING!  Don't second guess yourself.  She will loooove it. The second ring is not vintage at all, in my opinon.

Without a doubt the first one. I loved that the XOX had sentimental value to it. My e-ring has a similarity to the promise ring I had prior to it, which is the main reason I love my ring so much.

The first one is GORGEOUS!  Do that.

If you change your mind, though, and suddenly you have to get rid of that first ring, I would be glad to take care of it for you.  :-P

The first one is great and I love the story you told about why you picked that design. I would definitely stick with it and explain to your future Fi the significance of why you chose that ring. Good luck!

First ring is way classier - its vintage in a 1930's type way.  The 2nd ring, the wrap around diamond part - its vintage in an 80's way.

The first ring is so beautiful - your girl will die with excitement.  It's amazing.

jacinda10 : you hit the nail on the head. 2nd is definitely 80s vintage. I LOVE THE FIRST! :-) Good luck with everything-- she is going to be so happy!

I like both, but if your gf likes the classy, vintage look, go with the first. I think the second one is modern looking, not vintage.

They're similar so definitely stick to the first one. There's no need to change it to something else along the same lines.

@FutureHusband: AWWWWW!!!!! Definitely stick with the first one. And you picked a good day to propose! (That's my wedding day!lol) But every guy is nervous. My FI knew I wanted to marry him, and knew I would say yes, but he was still so nervous when he proposed to me! Just try not to worry about it (as hard as that is) and be yourself. You've got this in the bag. You picked a GORGEOUS ring, and you even took the time to make sure it was something you think she'll like. Bonus points for that mate. More importantly, you are going to ask the woman of your dreams to marry you! That's so EXCITING! :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your girlfriend loves classy with a touch of vintage, you nailed it with that first ring.  Don't over think it or second guess yourself.  You decided on the first ring for a reason. . .because it's ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and unique.  :)

You did an amazing job! Best of luck with the proposal, and keep us posted!
