So, we have made decisions about the rest of our menu for our wedding recption but are having trouble deciding on which salad to choose. I have narrowed it down to the top three (there were seven different salad options…wowsa) from our caterer’s menu. If you could vote in the poll above and let me know which one you personally would prefer if you were at a wedding reception, it would be lovely!
For reference, our main dishes will be Pineapple-Orange Glazed Ham and/or Herb Roasted Chicken with Lemon Butter Sauce. Sides will be Herb Roasted Golden Potatoes and/or Seared Sweet Corn with Peppers and Herbs. Also, we will have other options for our vegetarian friends out there. 🙂

So I actually think #1 sounds the best, but Fiance liked #2 so I voted on behalf of him (thought it would be good to include a guy’s opinion anyway). I think #3 is too bland for a wedding. #2 probably goes the best with your menu options. YUM!

I would prefer #1, hands down. But 2 also sounds tasty. I’d skip out on 3, it sounds too generic

I say the Italian Garden Salad with Homemade Italian Dressing. Because I feel like it is a more universal salad and I dont like fruit on my salad…
Post # 6
I chose the last one b/c i don’t like salads with fruit/nuts in them.

I chose 1, although I would like all 3. More people seem to like mixed greens than spinach (at least in my experience).

I chose #3 because I’m a more generic salad eater (I don’t like fancy shmancy salads so much) but I would be happy with #1, as well. I remember I wanted to serve ceasar salad and my mom and Darling Husband said I should really opt for something fancier since it’s a wedding and people kind of want that fancy salad with “things” in it.. Lol.
However, I HATE spinach lettuce, so definitely have nothing positive to say about #2.

I can see where everyone says that 3 sounds too bland, BUT it’s a classic and some people (like me) are still on the fence about having fruit in my salads lol Soooo that’s why I chose 3 🙂

I chose #2 because it is unique, not everyone will have salad like this in their homes at suppertime!

Thanks for your opinions so far, everyone! It’s good to see what different people think about this. 🙂

I automatically ruled out 1 because I am allergic to nuts. While 3 sounds a bit duller, it sounds the tastiest and would be sure to please almost everyone, while the other two may be amazing, but only amazing for a small fraction of the guests.

i never met a salad i didn’t like, but the crowd pleaser would probably be 3

@MsPanda: I was thinking the same.
While I love fruit on salad some people seriously hate it. Although the Italian salad is generic it is probably the most appealing to the majority.

I picked #3 because I think it would appeal to the most people.
But #1 sounds soooo good! (If there was cheese on it & I could get it with just a balsamic & olive oil dressing, I would be ALL OVER THAT.)
I would not like #2 at all. Hate raw spinach. : p

@CrazyCoffeeGeek: You know, I didn’t even think about the fact that people may have a nut allergy but that is something that we really need to consider. Thanks for bringing that up! I know the caterer mentioned that if anyone has allergies, he is more than happy to make something special for them. For example, my Mom has to have gluten free food and he already said he would whip up something nice for her. He seems very accommodating in that regard. Thanks again though!
