Well this is the second time I have posted a question about sashes, but I hate making decisions so I need your help to make it for me 🙂
I’m getting married in December and my wedding colours are Eggplant/plum, silver, and ivory. I’ve purchased my dress and shoes (three pairs of them…) as well as a custome purple and ivory hooded cape which I adore. I have attached an image of the heels I will wear for the ceremony.
As you can see in the picture the dress comes with a sash, but I’m not sure if I am 100% on wanting to wear it. I originally went into my dress appointments thinking I would walk out with a keyhole gown or something that looked like it walked right out of the pages of Austen…I love Austen novels. Clearly I strayed from my orignal vision. I fell in love with how this dress hugged my body and I felt the dramatic all lace gown with scallopped hem had just enough romance. I will be having the dress altered to be more of a A-line/fit and flare than a mermaid and I may just have to add lace cap sleeves.
We’re getting married in front of a fireplace, so I am not sure if the bejeweled sash fits the enchanted Christmas theme that I am going for.
So here are the infamous sashes that have bothered me since I purchased the gown.
Lilac…more of a neutral purple (the picture looks more pink though…hmm)
To match the eggplant tablecloths
to match my shoes…
If not one of these do you have any suggestions? Or should I go sashless…

Love the ivory sash, very pretty!

I’m not big on sashes and I don’t think your dress needs one.
But, if you really want one, then I’d go with the ivory.

I think the original sash looks best.
If you insist on changing it though, I’d definitely go ivory over any of the other options.

I think the vibrant colored sahes distract from the beauty of the lace detail going on in your dress. I’d go with ivory for sure!

I like the ivory best but I don’t necessarily think your dress needs one. 🙂 Pretty dress!

Im confused about which dress is yours! Is it the strapless one? Also, if you are going to do a sash, I wouldnt do any of the bright colors because if you are going for the romantic theme, you will miss the mark by adding a bright sash. It will be too harsh I feel. I think a nice beaded sash or the plain ivory one would be best.

Classic ivory all the way!

I think you should get a thin rhinestone sash. You can actually make these yourself if you go to a fabric store.. I’d look into that. I think the big satin sash covers too much of the dress. and The rhinestone sash will make it look more elegant.

i think you should get the one that matches your shoes.

Personally, I love the sash that is already on the dress. I think it would totally fit with an “enchanted Christmas” theme.
If you really don’t like it, I like that eggplant sash best out of all the satin ones. I think a skinny sash looks great on your dress.

I really like the original sash but the ivory one is soft and elegant too.
