I’m wearing this dress (allure 8705):
and want to spice it up with a sash under the bust. Which one do you think would look best?
Here’s the first one:
and the second one:
they’re actually headbands, so they’re only about 5″ long or so, but that’s fine… I can just get the seamstress to insert the ribbons in the sideseams of the dress. Anyway, which would look better?

definitely sash 1! sash 2 looks too busy.

For some reason the pic of the dress didn’t show up on my computer but, i would go with #1 if it’s a white dress amd #2 if it’s an ivory dress.

I think sash 1 looks more modern and you definitely have more of a modern looking dress. Sash 2 is really pretty too, but would look better with a lace or vintage dress. Sash 1 is also more original looking, IMO. 🙂

Both are beautiful but I vote for #2. If they are approximately 5″ long I think the large design in the center of #2 would make for a better focal point.

@MrsTimber: Ditto! I was thinking exactly what you were thinking in terms of the focal point. It seems like your dress kinda divets where the bosom is. Plus, the way sash #2 is shaped, it may fit nicely with it. I may be wrong since I can only see it from the angle of the picture. But of course, I love everything vintage and that is definitely more of a vintage undertone.
