I need your help. Fiance and I are trying to pick out our save the dates. There are 3 that we really like, and all 3 are completely different. So, I’m coming to you for your thoughts and opinions.
1. Tile magnet.
They are one of my top favorites. They have a magnet on the back. The cons are that they are at the top of the budget, would be harder (more expensive to mail), and there’s no room to put the wedding location (about half our guests will have to travel) or our wedding website information on them. But they match our theme. But its something that guests might keep, and therefore will remember our wedding.
We really love these; we are both huge bookworms, and think they are super cute. Something the guests may or may not use. We have plenty of room to include all the wedding information on them (can print on the back too). They are towards the top of the budget. The risk I don’t like with these are that we may not get engagement pictures taken before we want to send save the dates so we may be stuck with ones without our pictures on them which I don’t love as much.
Our third and final option is the postcard. We really like these because we have been in a long distance relationship, so they really fit us and we have room to print all the information. Plus I think they are super cute. And they are by far the cheapest of all the options. The only thing I don’t like about them is that they are pretty much guaranteed to go straight into the trash can which makes me bummed.
(all found on Etsy).
So bees, if you were in my shoes which one would you send and which one would you be most excited to receive?!

Should put a vote poll so we can vote on them 😛
I love the book mark idea.

I am a firm believer that unless guests see it every day they will forget about it.
In that case…. Magnet

I love the magnet, it’s adorable.

I’d send either the bookmark or the postcard.
I hate to sound like I’m dumping on your STD parade (only on weddingbee would that last phrase not mean something crazy!), but I’m the sort of person who would get the magnet and think, ‘Great, more clutter.’ And I know the logic behind it is to put it on the calendar as a reminder and all that, but who keeps a paper calendar these days? And honestly, I’m not one to LIKE being reminded about someone’s wedding day in and day out–if you’re a good friend, I’ll be there. I’ll input the info into my iPhone and wait for the invitation, and be glad to recycle the poscard/bookmark. Or use them as the impromptu coaster for my beer at the end of the day 🙂
Plus as far as what I would send, the tile would be quite expensive because of its weight! So I’d defintely go for the postcard/bookmark as the bride!

I’d pick the postcard as it’s the most economical. Use the money you would save toward your actual day. If I were to get the others Save-The-Date Cards in the mail, I’d think “that’s cute,” note the date in my planner, and toss it.

I like the postcard option the most because you can put the most info, everyone hangs it on their fridge anyway like the magnet but people can toss it out later without feeling bad about it. Not everyone will want to keep the magnet

I like the tile magnet, because it is different. Never seen that before and its cute!
Also, I do stick the postcard kind on my fridge anyway, but it does get tossed after awhile. I keep magnets, because I put a ton of invites, reminders, photos and what not on my fridge.

The postcard. Those who are super psyched will put the postcard on the fridge and be excited. Those who aren’t super psyched (or who hate clutter, etc), will throw away even the magnet and the bookmark. They’re all cute, but the postcard makes the most sense.

we did a bookmark and got tons of love for them.
So many people have fridges that magnets don’t stick to, so I think that just doing the magnets because you think people will hold on to them longer isn’t your best bet. I also don’t keep other people’s pictures, or things with wedding info in them anyway.
We didn’t have our engagement pics before our Save the dates either…ther are a lot of designs you can do without them…here are ours:

I love the bookmark idea, because I ALWAYS need bookmarks, and it’s something that people can keep and use and won’t be clutter, and actually, I have never gotten one as a STD, so I would think it’s unique.
I love the magnet that you posted though – couldn’t you adjust it a little and throw your website at the bottom? I personally love to receive STD magnets because it livens up our fridge, and I love the one you chose!

While I think the coaster is cute, it would be crazy expensive to mail those out. And I think people will throw those away as well. I’d probably throw it away before the other two because I hate clutter (and it doesn’t match my decor 🙂
I love the bookmark idea. I think it’s cute.

I like the post cards. Something easy to stick on a fridge. How about majority post cards, then a select few closer guest (close family/best friends) get a magnet too, that way those who mean the most have the nice keepsake and you dont have to pay for everyone to get one. Those closest would probably have the extra info anyways so it wouldnt be a big deal that it didnt fit on there.
