I voted for 2, but that’s probably because I’m a bit biased/partial as that is a very similar setting to my ring. I have a cushion cut diamond as well.

Papa.Giorgio:  It isn’t a Daussi but was inspired by one as I absolutely loved his settings. My FI picked the stone and had it set by a jeweler in NYC. The center stone is 1.72 carats and is slightly elongated.

Papa.Giorgio:  sure! The dimensions are 7.69×6.49×4.5 and my ring size is 6

Papa.Giorgio:  If the stones are GIA graded then I would say to go for the larger one as you probably wouldn’t see any inclusions with a VS1. I’m all about quality over quantity but in this case the stones are pretty similar.

Papa.Giorgio:  I’m hesitant to give you an answer because it’s your ring and you need to be happy with it! Have you seen either of the stones in person? Cushions are interesting and you really can’t judge much of anything about them based on what you see on paper. It’s true that in a stone of those sizes you aren’t likely to see any inclusions with your naked eye, so I’d tend to say go for the bigger one. But you also need to consider their faceting and light return if you’re interested in optimum sparkle!
