I guess it depends how big the stones are on the halo and whether they're pave set. Pave set stones always fall out on me! I much prefer prong settings like the second.
If it was a very large center, I think I'd go for the second of. For smaller or average size stone, the halo.
I like the second one better. I am starting to feel like everyone and their aunt has a halo ering.
Halos are beautiful, but the 2nd one's unique. It would depend on the size of the stone and your finger size. Smaller stone/larger ring size - halo. Larger stone/smaller finger - 2nd one. I like the 2nd one better also because it seems like halos are everywhere these days.
I alo agree that it depends on the size center stone..(the 2nd setting would look great with a larger stone, while the halo would compliment a smaller on) I did vote for number 2, as I think Halos are just a little too popular.
@burris4: I think the same thing when I'm on these boards, but then again I've never seen one in real life other than my own.
I agree with others. If the center stone is large-ish, the second may be a better choice.
Everyone seems to think halos are over popular but I hardley ever see them IRL. All I ever see are solitaires. I'd go for the halo!
I'm biased... I have a halo and I love it sooo much! Mine has all sorts of detail all around it, so it has a vintage feel to it. I'm the only person I know with a halo, I was surprised to see them all over WB when I joined. Everyone else I know has a solitaire or a 3 stone ring.
Go with the one that's more of your jewelry style. They're both gorgeous!
Also, halos look great with large stones too. :)

I like the first one over the second. Halos with dainty bands are so beautiful!
I like the halo setting ring! It is soo pretty! everyone keeps saying how they are everywhere but I haven't met a sole with one and am just starting to see halos in the jewellery stores! The second one I'm not a huge fan of sorry! But all depends on your style and what looks better on your hand!
@KatyElle: That's very true! I see halos all over the Bee, but I've only ever seen one in real life.
Oh, and I voted for the halo, but it seems that you've decided to go with the second setting. I think that one is very pretty too, but I'm a definite halo-lover.
I'm not a big fan of halos, myself, and I think the second one has a unique classicness about it :)

I think halo's are beautiful sometimes but of these two I picked the second.
