For those who picked their gown already: what’s the common rule for picking your shade of white?
I have pale complexion (with blue undertones), blue eyes and dark brown/soft black hair.
Thank you! 🙂

@saida27: I am pale with pinkish undertones and I went with Ivory because while made me look super washed out. When I look at myself in my Ivory dress I don’t look unnaturally pale even though the picture was take in February and I had no tan whatsoever.
ETA: I would probably suggest something similar for you unless you plan on tanning for your wedding.

I hadn’t even thought about choosing the shade of white based on complexion. I’m pale and have blue eyes as well (light brunette), but I went with white just because I’m traditional.
I did REALLY like a pearl white dress I tried on. It was still true white, but somehow softer, less harsh. Unfortunately my dress only came in white and ivory.
I think you’ll look fine in whatever shade you choose. You’ll be the only one in white, so there will be no comparison.

Thank you ladies! I decided to go with ivory 🙂 Will post pics very soon 🙂

I think that’s a good choice! Stark white isn’t as forgiving for skin tones except very dark, but ivory looks great on everyone!

Good choice. I love my ivory dress, it looked so much better on me than any of the white dresses I tried on, i’m very pale too, even after tanning a few times i’m still ghostly white.
