For those of you that already have an engagement ring or know which was is coming: which shape is your main stone? Is it the one you wanted? Would you change it if you could?
I have an emerald cut center stone.
If I could change it I would get a rectangular radiant instead. They are similar, but the rectangular radiant would be more sparkly. :)
I have a round. It is perfect, as my setting was designed with a round in mind. We'd considered princess, but discovered that round diamonds of the same size look bigger and have more facets...so its super sparkly. I wouldn't change it!
I believe it's a princess cut.

Mine is an emerald cut :) I love it and it's exactly the cut I wanted!
Mine is a marquise. At first I didn't like marquise but my FI insisted I try it on and then I changed my mind. It is perfect for me because I have long skinny fingers. I also love that it is different from my friends. All three of my best friends have almost identical rings and I love that mine is unique.
I have a 2 ct perfect square radiant which is EXACTLY what I wanted. I used to work for a diamond wholesaler and fell in love with the shape years ago. I left the industry about 4 yrs ago, and FI & I never went rign shopping or really talked about it before he proposed, so I was a little nervous that after all that time maybe it wouldn't be my fav shape anymore. Nope, it DEFINITELY still is. Rectangular rads are more common, and it took FI some time to find a square one with the Cs he wanted, but I looooove it to death=)
Mine is round, but not "round brilliant." It's an antique ring and was made before they started doing that cut.
I assume mine are round. : ) I have three smaller stones in a row (none bigger than the others). They look circular....
(Can you tell I didn't pay attention to all the rock lingo? LOL -- I knew he had it picked out long before he proposed, and I'm not a big jewelry person plus I trust his taste, so I never really bothered. I just know I like it. : D)

@twalia-- do you have a pic of your ring? I don't think I've ever seen a square radiant but I bet its awesome!
Mine is a cushion cut and I LOOOOOOVE it. When FI was shopping I told him I couldn't decide between cushion, radiant, and asscher and that he should choose. Then after looking at a thousand rings online I really fell hard in love with the cushion cut but I didn't want to tell him in case he'd already bought a different ring. Lucky for me he said cushion was the only one he ever considered bc it was his fav. Love him!

We went back and forth from princess cut to round and I fianlly decided on proncess cut! I love it but I still do love rounds too! Can I just get two? One of each?! JK!
I always said I wanted a cushion cut, but Mr. Seashell picked out an Oval and I couldn't love it more! I love that it's unique.
So far I'm semi-surprised with the results! I'm not surprised round is the most popular, but I thought that princess would be closer to the number for round. I'm also surprised that cushion cut is #3. Before I started looking at rings I knew lots of people with basically every other shape but I had never seen a cushion cut before! I thought emerald cut would be #3.
My center stone is an asscher, which is essentially a square emerald (step cut)
Round cut. def not what I envisioned but FELL in love with them after husband told me he envisioned me with one!
Princess cut, which is what I wanted and he did a great job of selecting a great solitaire. I love my ring.
I originally wanted a cusion cut. My FI chose a radiant cut because he thought it was more classic. I love my ring. It sparkles sooo much!
I always knew I wanted a marquise...I think it flatters the shape of my hand (long, skinny fingers!), but the solitaire in a cathedral setting was all his pick!
I fell in love with round. I just loved how ..... round it was lol. I also love asscher and radiant cut, but those aren't available for Moissanite.
mine is a round brilliant. i was torn between RBs or cushion, but the setting i fell in love with works best with an RB. a year after the engagement, and i'm still so in love with it.
Mine is a princess cut in a halo setting, it is one that I helped pick and I lurve it!
My center stone is an emerald cute, directly on the side of the center is two princess cute and following is 4 round on each side. Guess the FI couldnt decide which way to go :-). Its pretty though, I love it.

My center stone is from 1916 and like @frugal_faye said they didn't have specific cuts then. My diamond is called an Old Mine Cut - in all honesty it looks like a round brilliant, haahaahaa
I'm partial to the princess cut myself 
. It was the only input I had in my ring!
