I’ve never been to an actual ceremony at the beach, but I looove them, and have always pictured mine like that, I’m just curious what shoes does the bride, groom, guest wear to these type of ceremonies so they can walk in the sand?

nothng with heels, for sure! The rest depends on how formal… I’ve seen everything from no shoes, to flip flops to cute flat sandels!

Sand…duh bare feet. I always thought it was nice when you signed the guest book and the they had cubby’s set up to put yuor shoes in and you could walk on into the rows and sit down. I wouldnt want shoes on at all cause as soon as the sand gets into yuor shoes you’ll be miserable throughout the whole thing. Have fun!!!

I still needed height so I wore wedges. They made me taller but didn’t get stuck in the sand. You could also wear flip flops (nice ones), flat sandals or bare feet

I think I would plan to have a sandal in case the sand is hot, and I might be likely to pick something wedgelike or with a thicker sole if I knew the sand was going to be hot! That way, you would have a backup plan on being barefooted. I think if I was going to be barefooted… I would plan to wear jewelry on my feet and ankles.

@MrsGP – I LOVE those, but I’ve searched high and low and they are no longer available in that style anywhere 🙁 Back to the drawing board!

LOVE beach weddings too!! We’re getting married on the beach!
Myself and bridesmaids are walking down the isle without shoes (since its on the sand) but I bought flip flops for them to wear for the reception.
I’ve seen some cute ideas for the guests. First off, they’ll know its on the beach so they’ll wear shoes accordingly. But, if the reception is not in sand – then the idea I saw is to have a shoe holder when they walk to the ceremony location. They can take off their shoes and put it in the shoe holder.
Another thing I saw was cheapy flip flops (in a bag) being provided to guests. That was a little out of our budget, but it worked.
And lastly, you can wear “jeweled shoes” (not really shoes)
Let us know what you pick!!
