I can’t decide on which color shoes for my purple bridesmaids dresses. Its a very bright purple – very similiar to picture below but more purple. If that makes sense. Im having my reception at a very nice place! Upscale and classy so I definitely don’t want colored shoes. And Im thinking gold and silver are going to look TOO tackey with the bright purple, Remember think CLASSY! So Im thinking Pewter Silver..Any thoughts??

My bridesmaid dresses were more of a plum color. But I just told them to get black shoes. I thought everyone has black heels, but it turns out that only two of them has a pair they wanted to wear and the outher 4 went out and bought new ones.

What’s not classy about dyeing the shoes to match the dress?
If you’re so against dark purple shoes, then the only viable option left is black.

@Christy42213: No, I meant like a color, like blue or teal. You know how fashion is these days that you can have a teal dress with yellow shoes..Nothing like that..This place is to classy and I don’t want it. I thought about dying the shoes the same color as dress but honestly just prefer not too. Im thinking either a light silver or pewter…

@Queena3378: I’d say black or nude depending on your other colors. Pewter might be hard to find/match if you are planning on telling the girls what color to pick and letting them shop for themselves.

I am attaching the color of my dress so you can get a better idea. The dress on the left is the plum (NOT my color) and the dress on the right is the actual color of my dress. So it’s very purple so black just doesnt look good with it, in my opinion.

If the purple has warmth to it I generally prefer gold.
If it has cooler tones then silver would work…but I wouldn’t recommend telling them to buy “pewter silver”…I mean, what is that??? If you told them to go for that color I can almost guarantee you will end up with some lighter silver shoes and some darker silver shoes. Dark silver might be a better description.
If you want a specific color the only way to do it would be to pick the shoes and have them buy those exact ones that are pewter.
Since you posted a picture…I think darker silver/pewter would look nice. Or nude would look good.

My Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are Egglplant and we are doing silver shoes – Any style they like as long as they are silver or pewter/grey metallic, but silver is most common and easy to find!
Edit: I considered Nude also istead of Silver, but one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man pointed out that Silver is more fun and party-like so I went with that 🙂

+1. Silver would look beautiful with that vibrant, lavender-colored dress!

Thanks everyone – I think I changed my mind from pewter(dark) silver to a light silver…

I had purple Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and they all wore silver shoes. Looks great!
