Bees, Ive decided my next big purchase for myself will be some solitare diamond studs. I have no idea what size I want. I want to stay on the small end. For sure under .75 tw. Obviously price will be a factor, but Im willing to spend a little more to get the best size for me. Do any of you pictures of your diamond studs on actual human ears? Pictures of the earring alone does nothing to help me. Im really leaning towards 1/2 ct TW, but is that too small? Any pictures you have would be much appreciated.

I’ve had earrings go back through my ears and get stuck- they were CZ piercer studs and on the smaller end. I refuse to go smaller than 1 ct TW because of it. Those stupid things hurt when they’re stuck between holes in your ear. 1/2 ct TW is what my sister and I gave my mom for mothers day one year and they are a really good size- not too small to be noticed, but not huge either. If I wouldn’t have had my own personal evil experience with it, I would definitely go with 1/2 🙂

@emilygrace07: Fiance bought me 1/4 carat studs for Christmas a few years ago. I love them and wear them all the time. They are on the small-ish side though and I probably would go for at least 1/2 carat.

I’ve been through this. I recommend purchasing some cheapo cz earrings in various sizes and wearing them around for at least a few days until you know which size you definitely love. I don’t know from carat sizes, but what I’ve found is that even 1mm makes a HUGE difference when it comes to earrings.
when you pick the earring you like, bring it in and the jeweler can measure the width and help you pick something similar.

Personally, I would get the largest size I could.
What shape are you considering?

You can get CZ pairs from Berricle for a pretty good price. I’d probably buy a pair of the 1/2 ct. and see how you like them before dropping a big chunk of change on the real deal.
