I will be registering for our wedding pretty soon(we will be sending out our STD’s and I heard from several bees that its a good idea to have your registering done before you send out your STD’s). Anyway, I would love a steam mop, but have no idea which one is the best and can work on whatever floor. You see I dont know what kind of floor we will have and all that. I heard that you cant use it on linoleum floors and wooden floors.I cant imagine them making a steam mop and u cant use it on surfaces that are normal in kitchens, etc. Like linoleum. Linoleum and wood floors are so common.
Bees let me know which steam mop you like and what you use to really get your floors clean when you have more time(I heard that the steam mop gets it clean with water, but no soap, so it might look clean but its really not).
Any help is appreciated bees. 🙂

I have the Shark and like it. Its an earlier version. Still great. I definitely use it on wood (and ceramic tile).

It’s totally not a steam mop, but get a Scooba! I want one so badly but we only have two tiny patches of linoleum so it’s not worth it for us. We have a Roomba and it’s awesome, though, so I imagine the Scooba would be too!

I originally registered for a Shark, but didn’t receive it. After the wedding, when I went to purchase it, I started looking for the best price of it vs different brands. I just ordered a HAAN. A friend of mine has one and she loves it. She has hardwood floors throughout her house, and ceramic in the kitchen. Those are the floors I plan on using it on as well. I should have it by next week and will let you know how it is..

I have a Hoover Floormate Spin Scrub and love it! You can vacuum, wash and dry with it, and its awesome for our hardwood and linoleum floors

My mom got a Bissel something (its pale green) and the thing destroyed her linoleum floors! There are these huge marks everywhere and they won’t go away. So just becareful and test it in a small spot, don’t start in the middle of the kitchen like my Mom did lol.

I want a Shark something awful!!

I just registered for one and did some reading up on them before hand. It seems like you have to decide if you just want it to clean, or clean and disinfect before you decide. To disinfect, they need to hit a certain temperature, and for some of the mops it could take 7 seconds in one spot to hit the disinfect temp. At that rate it would take forever to do my kitchen floor. I also wanted one that automatically shoots out the steam, instead of one that you need to use a trigger, since that seemed like it could get annoying. After my reading, I picked the Haan FS-20, which had good reviews. That said, my mom has a shark and is pretty happy with it!

I’ve got a Bissel floor mate, and it’s great. The floors actually look like it’s part of a home and not a bachelor pad 🙂

Its gonna be hard to decide.lol
@ookbob:So you’ve had no problems with it?? Its not clunky and hard to move around the floor?
I want to get one that is easy to set up, use, and then clean the mop to put it away.

My parents have the Shark and I’ve used it before when I was helping my mom get the house ready for a party. I loved it so much that I’m asking for my own for Christmas :). It seems to pick up a ton of dirt on the pads, and it is so nice that the pads are machine washable!
