I purchased this setting and now I am having difficulty deciding on which center stone to put in her ring. This is going to be her engagement ring. She has a small business that makes flower hair clips, head bands, tutu sets etc. Her mom who loved flowers passed away from cancer several years back. That is why I picked the semi floral halo. I just can’t decide one white or yellow diamond for center stone. Please help me pick. Thanks in advance.

I like the white in the center of that ring more… Super beautiful setting btw! You did good!!

medfire4905: Have you talked to her about diamond alternatives? Some women prefer diamonds for an engagment ring so getting her anything else might not go over well… These are beautiful though and you have excellent intentions 🙂 Good luck! I’m choosing the diamond though, the yellow is a little too yellow for me.

medfire4905: What is her style like? Is she more of a classic person? If so, then definitely the white diamond. If she has a more unique style and you think she would prefer an unusual ring, go for the yellow diamond. I personally prefer the classic look, but she’s the one that’s going to be wearing it!

I personally love the yellow- but I love yellow and wear a yellow engagement ring myself. Does the color yellow have any significance? Does she like something more unique? Or is she more classic (in that case a tradiitonal white diamond might be better)

mgbser: This. It all depends on her taste as both are beautiful. She is really going to appreciate the thought you put into this and the sentiment behind the setting.

medfire4905: Definitely check with her to make sure she’s ok with a yellow e-ring, many women expect a clear, diamond looking stone. If you know she would like it, I think the yellow is more unique, I would go with a Citrine as the center stone though- the one you posted looks very very bright and in my opinion would not be flattering on most skintones.

im not a fan of yellows in general. the canary yellow moissanite looks like concentrated pee. NO LIE!
it would have to be faint but even faint yellow is not as nice as bright white!

Thanks for all the comments and messages. Both of them are diamonds. The yellow is a fancy vivid. I am not really sure if it is going to even be that bright as it was a picture of the diamond I photoshopped from the website. She is more of a fashionable person. She really didn’t have an opinion when I asked her yellow or white. There is a 60 day 100% satisfaction on the diamond so if she didn’t like it I could always return it. Any additional thoughts?

I’d go with the white diamond. I think the style of the ring itself would suit a fashionable person well. I like fancy yellow diamonds but not for an engagement ring.

I think the yellow makes everything else pop. In my opinion, the white just blends together.

medfire4905: I actually had to make this exact decision for my ring! It looked gorgeous with a yellow diamond, but ultimately I decided to go with a white diamond because I felt that would be more classic. If she would be down for a gorgeous yellow diamond vs the more simple “white” diamond, then yellow all the way! It really depends on her personal taste.
