I really think that either veil could work. However, I really like the thought of the mantilla veil with your dress . . . I think the lace adds a little more dimension to it.
Also love the hair. Very pretty!
I like the mantilla veil -- you can always switch to the birdcage after the ceremony for a more fun look, and keep the more traditional mantilla for the ceremony. I love your dress, by the way! Gorgeous!
I think the mantilla veil would look great with your dress! You could always switch to a birdcage later if you want to have both!
I love mantilla veils-- so gorgeous! Is your dress in yet (I'm assuming that's you in the pic?)? If your fittings are at a bridal salon, can you try on a mantilla with your dress at your next fitting?
I really think it's all about the "look" you want to present at your ceremony and reception. If your food, flowers, band/DJ, ambiance, etc. of the ceremony site and reception site are "modern" and edgy, then the birdcage veil would work. If your ceremony site is very traditional, if you have more of an antique or traditional or timeless feel to your flowers and reception site, etc. than the traditional long veil is going to work. That dress is beautiful and will go with either look I think. But your look really has to dovetail with the look of the day. You will set the tone of the day in many ways. Your veil and dress will be the first thing many guests see at your ceremony. So people might say "Oh, what a fashionable, edgy look" and expect that feel the rest of the day. I am not trying to put more pressure on you-- but I think the whole look really does send a message.
I say do both! Which is what Im going to do, you can wear the mantilla for the ceremony and the birdcage for the reception!
Thanks for the input ladies. I was going to wear the flower fascinator that is detachable from the veil to the reception. I just feel bad for already having bought the birdcage veil... should I buy another one?? I put it on with my dress and it definitely works. I just don't know if I want to go a more traditional route or not.
Ahhhh, decisons decisions....
I think the modern dress with mantilla veil would be a little strange, but maybe you could smooth it out by getting the most modern mantilla you can find (I know, it's kind of a contradiction). Also, I think the mantilla is much better for the hairstyle you have chosen.
I would go with an angel/waterfall cut like this
I like the bird cage veil with that dress which btw is gorgeous!
Oh I remember this beautiful dress!! A mantilla would be soooo beautiful with it.
IMO...I think the dress looks really modern and think the birdcage veil would look great with it...I think the mantilla is pretty, but doens't really make sense with the dress...it's kind of like old school meets new school to me. Maybe try both on with your hair done and in your dress to see how you feel.
I voted for other, because it really depends what feeling you want to invoke- modern or more traditional/romantic? Each veil would look great with your dress and hair style I think, it really depends on what look you like. Personally, I like the mantilla look, because I don't feel comfortable in very modern styles, but you might be very different! And, i don't think your dress is simple at all- there are lots of lines in it, it is soooooo beautiful!!!
I love birdcages but I think that the mantilla would complement your dress and hairstyle better. I don't think your dress is simple at all! Very beautiful lines.
I second gionnetto or I think something "classic" like an elbow length satin edged veil would work really nicely with you dress and hair style...just IMHO. Go with whichever one you love and it will look great!
I really love the look of mantilla veils and think one would look great with your beautiful dress. However, I'm not really a big fan of birdcage veils. But you should definitely try your dress on with the different veils (if you can) and see which you like better.

Here are pics of me in my dress and the veils that I'm torn between. I purchased the birdcage veil and I LOVE how unique it is, but I realize it's not for everyone. My dress is on the plain side so I thought I would jazz it up a bit with a different type of veil and large statement earrings. On the other hand, I also love the look of mantilla veils, like the one pictured (I have NOT purchased one). It's definitely more "traditional." I feel like my dress gives off a more "modern" vibe, so would a mantilla go with it?? Oh, I should add that I want to wear my hair 1/2 up 1/2 down as pictured. What do you girls think?? I have a feeling I know how this poll will go, but just to see... I'd like your honest opinions please! :)
