we skipped on a videographer, trasnportation, and florist. we also skipped on cake.
i am skipping a DOC, videographer, florist, dj, and limo... so lots! we're DIY-ing the flowers and having a restaurant reception with ipod music, and we just didn't feel the need for the other things!
We're doing everything else, but just not the videographer. We're just going to have a friend video the ceremony. I don't really need video of the reception and I'm just not into the whole "say hi to the bride and groom" thing.
Everything else we're doing though.
We skipped videographer and car service. We also technically didn't have a florist since I just ordered flowers from Sam's Club.
We skipped the videographer, DJ and a car service. But we skipped fancy transportation because our ceremony and reception venue was all in one location.
I don't at all regret not hiring a videographer, but I DO wish we had asked someone to record the key parts of our wedding with our digital recorder. We planned on doing that and just completely forgot the day-of.
We didn't miss having a DJ at all. Our MacBook worked perfectly, and we saved about $500. Score!
We're having our ceremony and reception at the same venue, which is a B&B that we've rented out for the entire weekend. I don't see the need for a limo service, but my fiance is trying to tell me that we should have something arranged, just in case we need it. We also don't have a DOC, but we're deliberating whether we should try to find one. And I'm waffling about having my makeup done, but I suspect I'll end up paying someone because I never wear makeup and don't know what I'm doing.
haha apparently we're skipping everything almost... :)
No videographer, dj, florist, car service, makeup artist, or DOC
We skipped a lot of vendors and I'm so glad we did. Less stress! No videographer, make-up/hair people, florist (well, we had a florist to craft our silk bouquets, but we got them 3 months before the wedding) and no car service either.
I skipped videographer, car service, and a DOC - but I really, really, really wish I HAD hired a DOC! :(
We aren't doing videographer, DOC or car service. The FH's grandpa has a huge tour bus/RV thing that we will use for transportation of the wedding party after the ceremony, and before, we will just pile into cars. I don't need a video of my wedding, it would never get watched. I think a DOC is a good idea, but my BM's and GM's will help be the DOC.
We skipped a videographer (my brother offered to film it and it turned out great), limo, and wedding planner/DOC.
I forgot to mark some! We are having 'friendors' for the DJ, coordinator, florist (diy), hair, makeup. We also are skipping: videographer, possibly cake.. i think thats it! A friend might do our pics (she does them as a hobby and would only charge us $50!)
Wow! I didn't realize quite how many Friendors we used! We skipped all but the photographer. Videographer - gave a friend in the business $100, DOC - me? hah, Florist - my mom, DJ - cousin ran iTunes, hair/makeup - bridesmaids, transportation - we rented a school bus and van to shuttle guests from the hotel but otherwise everything was in one place, caterer - family friend, my dress - used from bravobride...
Vendors we DID use: Tent & table rentals, photographer, cakes & pies, Port-a-potties... I think that's it! Crazy! That said, a DOC would have been nice. :-)
we are skipping alot of that...we mostly dont see the need for it...
We are skipping the videographer (will have a friend or relative record ceremony); florist (DIY thru fiftyflowers); no DJ (iPod); limo (we are still doing a trolley for guests); makeup artist (I'm pretty sure I am doing my own). I wish I could say that all this is keeping our budget way down, but it's just keeping it from being completely insane!
No videographer, florist, and limo. I had a DOC, but it was my friend, so we didn't directly pay her :)

Just curious how many of you skipped what many brides/grooms consider traditional wedding vendors. By this, I mean professionals that you hired for the big day, not "friendors".
