I think that even though you have to pay gratuity sep. that the 2nd one is a better deal..it has the bar, more options for linens, all the set up for ceremony and centerpieces...all that stuff will add up to way more than $10 more pp and I think it's a steal!!!
Not to mention all those little things like the twinkling lights that will create the ambiance...you will likely think you don't care about any of that now...but once you start planning...you probably will and this will save you money!
2nd photo because it feels more intimate and romantic to me... and i love the idea of all of the picture opportunities.
I like the second one better..and plus the white chairs make it easier to coordinate if you want to skip the chair covers.
@Albee: Honestly.. I reallllllly don't want a Friday, but i'm pretty open to a Sat or Sun Afternoon or evening.. if the price is right :)
@JamaicaBride: Anthonys (the 2nd one) has really great INSIDE photo opps but really none outside..its on a main stretch of road, lots of traffic and it overlooks a car dealership! EEK. At the Holiday Inn we'd also have to go ride 20mins north to a park and take pics..not so much other than hotelly type stuff on the inside.. so.. i feel like when I weigh my options, the choices seem very similar.. the fact that Anthony's seems to include gratuity kind of makes me happy though! LOL as it probably would to any bride. ALSO: I really wasn't too happy about the ceremony taking place inside the same area as the reception (1st picture) ..notice the green sort of "walk way" area.. that'd be my aisle and there is an ugly brown door at the end, similar to the one you can see in the background of that same pic, that i'd be walking towards.. I dunno.. i didnt like that much tho i'm sure they'd dress it up and you wouldnt even notice it. But when I went for my little tour of the holiday inn, they didn't really SELL it to me.. i didnt get to see anything set up.. no table arrangements.. no pictures even! So.. i was kinda..ehhh.. about the whole thing.
Mannnn...decisions, decisions!
OH..and the chair covers are FREE so i'm not too worried about that.. tho if I wanted bows, those are extra (again, they didnt really tell me how much.. so...ehhh)
Oops, I am confused the first picture is the Holiday Inn and the 2nd picture ifs Anthonys? Drat. I thought it was in reverse for some reason. I think package wise the hotel is a better deal, but the Anthony's photo is much nicer. Now, I see your problem.
@2010Bride2Bee: I know.. i'm sorry for the confusion.. i should have done them in the right order! I'm not too worried about bows and what not.. I honestly wouldnt need them if I chose Anthony's.. the chairs are beautiful. The Holiday Inn chairs are more like meeting/conference chairs, not so nice.
Either way, tough decision.. I think what i'm going to have to do is go investigate a nice park/area near Anthony's so that I can take outdoor photos as well as indoor photos.. and i'll have to do a first look at either place because of the picture thing.
If there is one thing i'm not willing to bend on, its the photography!
thanks for your input ladies!
Does Anthony's include dinner or alcohol? I think you should do a full outline of the budget for each place to really compare. Right now, I'm not sure which one would end up being cheaper. But if there is a $10 difference per head, and you have 100 guests, thats $1000!!
I think you and your Fi should make a list of your priorities and go from there. If having the ceremony in the same area as the reception is a deal breaker, then your choice is easy.
Regarding the photography, perhaps you can get in touch with previous brides who have used those venues and look at their photo album to see if that is something you would be ok with, or if either place really showed better in the photographs.
Oh yes, i'm sorry.. they both include dinner.. we can do sit down Or buffet for the same price.. both have hors de'oeurves, champagne toast, cocktail hour, 5hr open bar..
the smaller details..and what they offer in the way of photo opps and ceremony extras seems to be where my decisions lie.
It's a tough one.
I think Anthony's is better since they have better photo opportunities for you. The other parts seem pretty comparable to me.
I'm leaning towards Anthony's but its kinda hard to tell what the venues are really like based on just those photos. I've been to a wedding at Anthonys (I was the MOH) and it actually felt very spacious to me as opposed to intimate. There are some decent photo spots inside by the waterfalls and outside by the Cinderall coach though. PM me if you have any specific questions about Anthonys and I can try my best to answer them.
I like the 2nd photo as well. It gave me a completely different vibe than the 1st photo. More intimate and romantic.
If you don't mind having a Sat. or Sun. afternoon wedding then I'd go with Anthony. It looks like it has more personality. A great deal isn't really a deal if it isn't what you want!
