- Wedding: July 2014
We are currently deciding between 2 venues. One of them we have on hold for 5th July 2014. The other is already almost fully booked for summer 2014, so we are on the waiting list for 7th June in case the first couple decides they don’t want it, and we have 20th September on hold (the earliest date they had). This might mean that venue availability makes our decision for us. However, the other couple had already had almost the full 2 weeks to make up their mind, so maybe they won’t want 7th June.
I know which one I am leaning towards, but I am interested to know which one you would go for. The price difference is about £1000, so we can afford to go with either one.
Pros: 5 mins from ceremony venue
Marquee doors can open up on a sunny day to look over a lovely view
English countryside wedding venue perfect for bunting, etc.
Cons: No wedding coordinator included
We won’t be able to enjoy the gardens so much if it rains
The room we would use for reception drinks if the weather is bad:
Pros: Smart and elegant
Purpose built as a wedding venue – layout is good, as is the events team
Wedding coordinator included
Still has beautiful gardens but they are smart lawns as opposed to more “wilderness” English country garden style
We saw it in a storm and it still looked great – wet weather option is good
Cons: Bunting would probably look out of place
Not so much character as the old house in Venue A
The gardens and front of the building:

The room we would use for evening buffet, and for reception drinks if it rains:
Honestly, I don’t think we can go wrong with either. They are both gorgeous and I love them both. Dates and availability permitting, which would you choose?
