Hi everyone! I’m new here and wanted to ask everyone’s opinion on the date for a *daytime* outdoor wedding. The only dates left at our wedding that are options for us are June 26, August 28 and September 18, 2011.
We’re in the Baltimore area, where the summers can be quite humid. There’s also always a very slight chance of tropical storms/hurricanes at sea in September that could affect us.
We’d like to get married sooner (June), rather than later (September), but we’re worried about rain and excessive heat for our daytime ceremony. I think we can start the ceremony as late as 3 or 4pm.
I know we can’t predict the weather, but what does everyone think? I’d really appreciate your opinions, thanks!

I don’t think June would be that hot for a daytime ceremony. I got married in June so I like that month!

I don’t know about Maryland, but down here, August tends to be hotter than June. So I don’t think June would be too warm, especially where you are, and I say go for it. I totally understand the “sooner rather than later” thing!

I grew up in Baltimore, and while you do get the occasional really hot day in June, you also have some really nice days. Pretty much every day in August will be hot. I agree that you run a greater risk of thunderstorms or even tropical storms in August/September. And by September the weather will be totally unpredictable. It could be rainy and cold, or still really hot. So I vote June!

Not sure about Baltimore… I’m from Texas, and we only have two seasons, Summer and August. So I’d avoid August if you’re worried about heat lol. Maybe it’s different up there in MD though. I voted for June! If you want to do it sooner, don’t let weather be a reason to wait!! 🙂

Thanks for the votes ladies . . . and keep them coming, we are still are debating!
Early or mid June In Baltimore would be great… but the averages for late June show weather that can be pretty hot and humid, with a few days in the past 10 years in the 90s. I know the 4th of July in Baltimore can be super hot and humid, and June 26th is pretty close to that. This and the fact that our wedding will be a daytime one is making us nervous.
Mid-September shows average highs in the upper 70s, but there’s a chance it could be cool.
I guess in either case there could be rain. I’d think late afternoon showers/storms due to humidity in June, and possible cold rain or even a hurricane or tropical storm out at sea in September.

I voted for June. No matter what date, you can’t guarantee perfect weather, and it sounds like you’d prefer a June wedding. So I say go for it! 🙂

I’d think you’d have the possibility of better weather in June! 😉
