I'm not a tall girl (about 5'5) and I was looking at mermaid style dresses, but I'm not sure if they would look on my short frame. Any ideas from shorter brides who've gotten married in mermaid style dresses?
A-line dresses can be a little bit more fun (if there's ruffles or other details on the skirt) while mermaid style tends to be a bit sexier and more serious. I don't know how to choose!
What do you think of the dresses below? What are your favorites? They all make me feel so beautiful but I"m curious how they look to others!

One of my friends is 4'11 and has a mermaid and looks amazing!
5'5" is pretty average. With a pair of heels, you could classify as tall. Either way, it looks like you have the body to wear either silhouette!
P.S.: The mermaid lace is gorgeous. :)
I say mermaid or the one in the ruffles picture. They look beautiful on you.
The dress with ruffles or the first lace dress are my favorites. You look fabulous in all of them, so I say go with the dress you love best. :)
That ruffled mermaid looks FABULOSO on you. I think 5'5" is perfect height for a mermaid gown. I would have totally rocked one if I could have!!!
I LOVE the second dress on you!
A bridal consulatant that worked with me picking my dress out said "If you have curves then show it off" A mermaid is a great style if you have a cute shape!! Don't hide a beautiful figure under a huge gown!!!
I love love love the last lace dress- so absolutely gorgeous! You really look beautiful in all of them though, go with whatever makes you feel the best. I'm a big believer that "you'll just know." But my vote is for the more a-line lace one :)
I love the lace dress but the third dress with the ruffles is absolutely stunning on you! I'd go with that one!

Pretty amazing. Thank you for the honest opinions! I'm impressed that every dress strikes a chord with at least a few followers. Isn't that the hardest part? I shouldn't have tried on so many beautiful gowns... otherwise it gets too confusing ;)

Regardless of your height, you have the body shape that can rock any type of dress.
You have a figure to DIE for. I love it. I love lace and I usually pick it when it's one of the options but I am so not going to lie, I love the third dress on you.
The third one with the ruffles is STUNNING on you. I mean, you are gorgeous in them all, but I was blown away by that one. You look like you can pull off pretty much any dress!

i love the sparkle and the glamor of the first one , but the third one is so unique.
just go with what your gut tells you, because you definitely cannot go wrong either way.
#3 looks great on you - Plus I love ruffles! :) Definitely my first pick, my second pick is #2, it looks great on you as well.
I am torn between the two lace mermaid gowns. I wouuld definitely do one of the three mermaids if I were you!
The second one but only because I'd recognize that lace detail anywhere, and Enzoani's Dakota is truly one of my favorite gowns overall. It helps that it hugs your figure in all the right places. It's a beautiful, elegant dress, and it blows the other contenders away.
I chose the third because I like the dress. You've got a great figure and look wonderful in each style.
Photo 3 is AWESOME - you look stunning, you are petite and can easily rock that dress
Love the mermaid on you - I really like number two and number three. although I'm kind of partial to #3 because I'm a girl with a ruffled dress too! :)
Love the first and third dresses. The third happens to be my favorite, so interesting.
Can't go wrong with either mermaids although I voted the lace one because you're so slender that I felt maybe the ruffle mermaid sort of drowned you a tad??? Also the fit and flare is lovely too, but really not loving the A-Line on you so much. :)
I voted for number two but girl-YOU RAWK a mermaid! Do it! I have a much more generous set of hips and a very curvy body but I am doing a mermaid. I look great IMO and so do you! Do it! :-)
