I know this is a crazy subjective question but I am looking for your personal opinion…which dress do you like better? I am in a position now where I am getting my dress made and need to give the dress maker some direction. Unfortunately I live nowhere near these two beautiful dresses but they are my top 2 from online browsing! I am 5’9″ and a size 6 so thin but not model thin. My wedding theme so far is very classic wedding. Also I wanted to stay away from strapless…but it does kinda make one look thinner, doesn’t it??? What do you think about that?

That first one is STUNNING. Reminds me of the Nicole Miller Lauren dress or the Lula Kate Stanwyck.
I think strapless dresses are overdone and if you like sleeves of some sort, you should totally do it. I think they are so, so elegant.

DRESS TWO! Quite gorgeous. I think it’s the cap sleeve I don’t like on the first, it’s an awkward length… In my opinion

I do love the first dress but you have to be careful with the fabric. Sometimes I’ve seen those see through fabrics in real life and they don’t look right in person but they photograph really nice. I’d go with the strapless one just because of that.

2nd one for me but its all about your choice 🙂

I love an illusion neckline – and I think it looks so elegant on slim, tall women – but the one you posted looks like it might have a t-shirt effect. I think the combination of cap sleeves (unflattering on most women’s arms, even skinny ones), the high neckline and the semi-opaque mesh isn’t quite working for me…if you want to go illusion, I would say do a bateau/boatneck and choose either 3/4 length sleeves or sleeveless.
I do think that if you have lovely collarbones and arms, strapless is always a beautiful look. You could always choose a strapless gown and add removable tulle/lace sleeves?

It really depends on your body shape because even size 6s come in all forms!
The first one would be great for concealing a small tummy and armpit fats.
If you have slender and toned arms, show them off and go for number 2!
Also, face shape plays a part in determining the best neck line, so do take note of that!
