There are plenty of posts on this, but most of them are older so I thought an update would be nice.

What platform did you use for your wedding website?

    Was it free?

    What features did you like/dislike?

    Would you recommend it?

What platform did you use for your wedding website? www.wedsite.com

Was it free? No it cost me $69, for two years. The fee was worth it to me, I love the site! It is another $19, if you want to purchase a domain name. I didn't purchase the domain name.

What features did you like/dislike? I love that you can upload an unlimited number of pics, customize each of your pages and add music if that is your thing. I love the guestbook feature. You can even order a CD once your wedding is over that captures how your wedsite looked on the last day it was active as a keepsake. I didn't dislike anything about it.

Would you recommend it? Yes, I get so many compliments on it from my guests.

@basketballwifetobe: Ditto! We used wedsite too and we LOVED it!

If you do some google searching you can likely find coupons for it too. I think we got $10 off. I loved everything about our Wedsite and also got tons of compliments about it. Another friend of ours loved ours so much she used Wedsite for her website as well! I'm seriously debating ordering the CD. I loved that it was VERY simple to set up and customize, there was no "Uggghhhh why won't this work?!" at any moment. You can also set up an online RSVP via your wedsite which is pretty cool (I didn't use that feature though so I can't say what all the functions of it are).

If you want to see what it looks like let me know and I'll send you the link and password.

I made my own.  I've had my own website for years now, so I used that.  I debated back and forth for a while on what to do, but in the end I wanted to be able to make the website totally mine.  Most of the wedding websites DO offer a lot of choices and make things pretty easy though.  :)

I use weddingwire's website. I used weddingwire to search for vendors, keep track of my vendors, keep track of my budget, manage my guest list... and keep up with the website. I just like having everything all in one so I'm not constantly bouncing around. The wedding website is pretty low priority for me, so I just found a template that was suitable for our "summer" theme and that was good or me. It pretty much has every kind of page you could want on a wedding website. And like I said, I just like weddingwire's whole site, so I'm a fan. But others were good too.

Currently we use wedding window.. it isnt free (10$ a month i think..) and the best features? I really like that some have flash intros in addition to other traditional wed site things (rsvp, music etc)

    I am using www.weddingtracker.com

It's $29/year.  I really wanted a website that had a personalized url (not a random one from The Knot, for example!).  So I decided to pay for that.  It's easy to use, and allows online RSVP's which has been very nice.  I also personalized the template to match my wedding colors and style, which I couldn't do with other sites!  It has lots of nice pages to set-up and have fun with...

I created sites on ProjectWedding.com and WeddingWire.com.  I searched a bunch of sites to see if I like their designs and those were the two I liked the most.  Project Wedding wound up being my favorite.

    Both of those are free.

    I used mywedding.com

The website is free, and the templates make it really easy to set up.  Good luck!

Wix.com - I loved it! Flash animated, we could put as much music and as many pictures as we wanted, and it was entirely customizeable. It's free, although we ended up deciding to pay for the domain name and upgraded. Guests loved the site and used it more than we thought possible. It works a lot like PowerPoint so you can add/edit anything you want, which was perfect for us - especially since we wanted options for English vs. Spanish.

I'm using Projectwedding.com. It's free and it's been pretty easy. There are a couple of glitches with the site (it took us awhile to figure out the WeddingMap) but it's pretty cool and there are lots of options for themes!

I'm using weddingwire.com. I looked at a few and its free and user friendly. I didn't see the need to pay for since its just to show information. They also have lots of designer templates from vera wang, martha stewart and other fancy designers. The site has flash and looks great and its free!
