I’m looking for:
– customizable URL (www.domainname.com/myname-and-hisname is fine)
– customizable style sheet (wysiwyg or CSS, I can write it from scratch if I have to)
– online RSVP system
– password protection for certain website areas or whole site
– customizable password, or ingests guest names and gatekeeps areas of the site by name
– <$50 for 3 months
I know I’m looking for a unicorn. The styling and the custom password are the sticking points I can’t find together. Joy gives me everything but the customizable password- their auto-generated password is certainly secure but it’s forgettable for guests. WeddingJojo gives me everything but the style sheet editing and their templates are not my style. Anyone know of any site that can give me my unicorn without me building it from scratch?

Weebly! Not a wedding website but completely customizable because you make your own site with your own URL and RSVP and you can pay for pro and password protect. It’s not actually hard to build a site with them, you pick a template and set it up how you like. Mine took me a couple hours but it’s awesome and I can check RSVP’s through the app and you can design your mobile website and desktop site to make it super user friendly

NoItsBecky : I had no idea Weebly had RSVP and password capabilities. Cool! Thank you, I will look into that!

We used Squarespace and it had everything on your list. 🙂

I used Wix. I’m not positive but I think it has all the features you described.

busybee1226 : Hi! Since you’re here- I’ll say that that randomly generated password is the one thing making me hesitate about choosing your site. I think it’s very easy for guests to forget it. For some people the security might be an advantage but for me it makes things unnecessarily difficult. I would love to see custom passwords available in future, or for areas of the site to be locked by guest list- enter your name to access.

litebrite249 : have you cheked out Appy couple? I dont think you can edit their templates, but maybe you’ll like them. They do custom passwords as an option (I think it’s an upcharge of like $10 – but so worth it).

Appycouple does most of what you’re asking except for the coding. They have pre selected templates but you can customize a lot of the features. It costs $35-ish as a one time fee and a custom URL is an additional $20. We’re getting RSVP’s back and it’s been very easy for us and guests, and we’ve gotten compliments on the website as well!

I would have thought that a customizable style sheet would be quite hard to find on a wedding website. We used http://www.weddingpixie.com and found them quite good
