It really depends on what look you are going for.

The 2mm will be slightly smaller than your ering, or very near the same size. The 2.5mm is still quite narrow, and it is not going to be like anyone looks at it and sees that it is “huge” in comparison to the ering, but they may perceive a small difference. I actually really like the look of a more substantial band where there is a narrower ering, to me it just somehow balances nicely for me visually. Also, if you wear it on your own at times, you may prefer the slightly larger band.

However, I’d also look at the heights too. It looks like the 2.5mm is higher than the 2mm. This may just be my perception due to the picture, but I would check and if different you may want to consider that and which one matches closer to your ering band. For me THAT would be more important than a 0.5mm difference in width.

How wide is your ering band?  I had the same predicament, and went with 2mm!  For reference, my ering’s slightly narrower than 2mm.

    ering w/2mm:

    ering w 2.5:

Because you’re going w/flat, it’ll look slightly wider than the domed bands I posted, but at least it gives you an idea.  I’m a size 6, for refrence.

@FutureMrs.Wood:  the reason why the flat band looks wider is because the width is measured on the inside – the side that touches your finger if that makes sense.  Especially if you are comparing a flat band to a domed or comfort fit band….your eye sees more of the surface of the flat band because it is flat vs the roundness of a comfort fit band.

0.5 mm is not a very large difference.  If you’re looking for something more substantial to wear on it’s own you may want to go with the 2.5mm band.

This is a picture of my comfort fit 2.5mm band with my 3 stone ring.  I rarely ever wore this combination. (The diamond in the 3 stone ring is being reset).  The 3 stone has a knife edge band that I believe it 2mm wide.
