Along with our cake (which everyone can and most likely will have 2 or more slices) I wasnt to do something else. Either a crepe station which would include crepes to fill with whatever you would like to put in, cream cheese, nutella, fruit, pastry cream, jams etc or a dessert bar with whoopie pies, mini tarts, mini cheesecakes, mini pies, pie pops, gourmet cookies etc.
I really want to do something new, fun and interesting at the wedding. the cake will be different flavors like bananas foster, pink champagne etc

I don’t like crepes and I’ve always thought desert bars are weird if you are already having cake. Don’t get me wrong, I love deserts but I would just have the cake. What about an ice cream bar?

I think a dessert bar would appeal to more people than a crepe station, but the crepe station would be more fun/memorable.

@Roxygirli05: I’ve been looking at gourmet icecream trucks. There’s some that do icecream sandwhiches and others that do sort of an icecream ball dipped in chocolate. There are actually quite a few here in LA, so I imagine if you’re getting married in the NY area, there must be some out there too.
If you’re having that much cake, I don’t think a pastery-filled dessert bar is the best way to go. The crepe station is interesting, but might be just weird enough to turn off some people.

Im actually in Buffalo, I cant find many other dessert options. No gourmet ice cream trucks, though that would be awesome!

I think crepes are tricky. I’ve had really delicious crepes and I’ve had really gross crepes. I think they’re also one of those things where either people love them or they don’t like them. We had a dessert bar and it was a hit because everyone had a couple things on there that they really liked.

mini fruit pizza bar:
colorful fruits (pineapple, blueberries, mandarin oranges, strawberries, kiwi)

I love crepes to death, but they can go so horribly wrong in so many ways. I think a dessert bar is a safer bet, plus you’ll appeal to a broader range of people. Only some people like crepes, but everyone can find something they like at a dessert bar.

I prefer the idea of a desert bar better. Personally I don’t like crepes.
For me though ideally I’d much rather a lolly or ice cream buffet:)

I sincerly doubt “everyone” will have 2 peices of cake…

I would be so impressed it I went to a wedding with a crepe bar. Do it!

i love dessert so i would totally have a piece of cake and stuff from a dessert bar. i love crepes but agree with PP’s that is could go horribly wrong.

I would love a dessert bar!!

I’m making the cake, and every event that Ive done before (5 years) everyone has had multiple slices to try every flavor. Its all my friends and family, they will have at least 2…
Im sad not alot of people like my crepe bar idea… maybe it will keep costs down! lol
