Anyone from DC out there with advice? I posted this in the Classifieds section too and got a couple response for Hobby Lobby, but as you know we don't have that in our area. HELP!!!
I have actually seen similar at our local Walmart. You could also try lowes for the materials and then just build them yourself - this is the route that we went and it has turned out okay - a little more expensive than we wanted but we couldn't find exactly what we wanted.
@daydreamwanderer: We are DIY-ing all our flowers, so that's why I didnt check out a florist. If I get desperate, I may ask if I could rent from a florist. But not sure if they would let me rent ONLY the column without any flower work.
@laural: Hmmm...I never thought of Walmart, I should check it out. Yeah, I asked FI if he thought he could build it from supplies from Home Depot or Lowes and he said probably would cost too much/not be worth it. Especially if we could just rent from somewhere.
@sunnydebs: Oh really?!?!? I need to find an AC Moore nearby. Thanks for the tip!!!
There's one in Rockville, one in Falls Church, and one in Fairfax...there may be more but I'm not sure. :-) Good luck!
You can rent them from party rental companies like the ones below, they are between $60 and $70 for a pair depending on the height you want.

@mcnetn3: Thanks for that tip! - I will look into it if I can't find anything at AC Moore.
I would also try Home Goods in Rockville (it's not too far from the AC Moore, if you go to that one). I was just there and they have plant stands and wood tables that could achieve a similar look. Good luck!
I just got back from AC Moore in Falls Church and they were all sold out. They said they only carry them from May - July. I also went to Michaels and they do not carry them at all. I'm still on the hunt!
I would try calling around to a few AC Moores.. they're in the process of phasing them out for fall but I was able to pick up two of them today... they're reasonably priced plus there's always AC Moore coupons--they take Michael's coupons too I think! Good luck!
@dimabri: Awe man, I may have to try another AC Moore. Do you mind telling me how they cost?
They were $14.99 and I used a 40% off coupon... you can find printable ones if you just search for AC moore printable coupons online. They're made out of plaster, not plastic, which I thought is fantastic.
@dimabri: Thanks so much - I will ask my Mom to try looking at another AC Moore today.
UPDATE: Called around to other AC Moore's in the DC/VA area and they were all sold out. They said they are not sure if they will ever carry them again. Just my luck! I will keep looking. My back up plan is just to find a large vase to put directly on the ground and then use long branches or something to give it the height and put the flowers in the front.

Does anyone know where I can either RENT or BUY white columns/pillars for ceremony decorations in the DC area. We need 2 that are about 36-40" that we can place some flowers on to flank the area where we will stand for our outdoor ceremony. I have searched the Internet and had no luck finding reasonable places. Here is an example of what I am looking for. Thanks.
