While I know this is the purpose of my department's white elephant game, I don't have anything lying around my house that would be a funny re-gift.  So....I'm going to have to buy something.  Any ideas?!   (something office-appropriate too)

I found these drink mix things at Target last year (looks like they still have them this year) that were a big hit.  They don't have alcohol in them.

Ooh, thanks.  That's a good idea, and still something people would like.

Gag gifts - Chia pet, snuggie, a fruit cake.

Real gifts - scratch off tickets, gift cards

    For a gag gift, a sombrero! They're a surprising hit. :)

Haha, our office was doing this, and I was like... "Ooooh!  How about that serenity tray we got for our wedding??"

Then I remembered it was from a co-worker.  Awkward situation narrowly avoided.

Maybe check out a local thrift store or discount store, like Big Lots (I'm old school and still refer to it as Pic n' Save). I went to a White Elephant party and brought some J Lo perfume and a Kathie Lee Gifford Tiny Tots VHS as gifts.

those sarcastic office post-it notes that say how you really feel... I can't think of the sayings on any of them but they are funny and often contain swear words!

Depending on the kind of office you have, I bet some crayons and a coloring book would be a hit.

Just had my company's white elephant today.  I gave the movie, Inception Blu-ray DVD (includes Blu-ray and regular DVD)... on sale at Target for $17.

I ended up getting a blue glass butterfly plaque. It's really cute. I love lil' sign like this.

There were a bunch of crappy gag gifts.  Like a bottle for black cherry vanilla perfume.  The guy that got it, sprayed it all around the room and it was making us all gag.  He was trying to do some suggestive selling.  Yeah, it didn't work.

Someone gave away a Durian fruit. You know that stinky fruit that is banned in certain countries and stores.

Oh, someone gave some squirrel underwear.  We all thought it was a horrible gift but it ended up getting stolen like 7 times.

Oh, if I had time, I would have went onto Amazon.com to buy a set of car christmas decoration.  The one I saw was one where you can dress your car up like a raindeer.  They had the red nose and antlers.

Here are some other crappy gifts that were given... a wig, someone's leftover wallpaper, a barbie doll, a picture frame with our company's CEO pic in it,

Here are some good ones, I think.  Gift card to the lunch/bakery/coffee place across the street, a big plush dog stuffed animal, gift card to the cupcake bakery, movie tickets, starbucks gift card, good bottle of wine/champagne, martini or margarita mix (I was just at Target and they have some good ones.)

A Shake Weight!  I'm giving one tomorrow at my company party.  I actually got it as a wedding present from a 18 year old.  It was pretty funny.  I'll let you know how it goes...

I thought White Elephant exchanges were supposed to be gag gifts?

@Belle2Be: They can go either way. For my Sunday School class we're supposed to bring one good gift and one odd one.

A hobby/stick horse. I got one a couple years ago with an antler headband and was told it's been passed year after year through White Elephants (sadly, I haven't been able to get rid of yet).

Cheesy/Tacky things always seem to go over well. As does food (cookie mix in a jar?)
