    Hello Bees!

I was examining my ring today and it has some scratches and scuffs along the back of the band...AHH and I've only had it for 2 months! What is the normal wear and tear on a white gold band and is there any way to prevent/fix scuffs?? I wear it everyday and never take it off... Also, any home remedies for keeping your diamond clean?

Here's a pick of the set...for fun :) He bought them together, smart man!

I only have the e-ring right now, but I've noticed so many scratches on it and it makes me very sad!  I began noticing them probably around the 2 month mark also.

Hope someone has a suggestion on how to fix/prevent this!

From what I've read, gold (white and yellow) is a soft metal. Scratches are to be expected as normal wear and tear. And, white gold is yellow gold mixed with another metal, so over time, it will lose it's white appearance and it will become a soft gold color that is really only noticable in certain light.

I've already noticed the back of my e-ring band turning a light gold. I've been wearing mine for a year now. You can get it replated/finished/dipped at a jeweler, but I'm not planning on doing it very often. I'll probably get my ring "tuned up" before the wedding though so it's not so dull next to my wedding band.

I keep my diamond clean with Windex. Seriously. A minute soaking in a shot glass of the stuff and then a soft brush to scrub the setting is all it takes. Rinse and wear.

Windex! How smart!! Been holding of on buying a ring cleaner and glad I did! Thanks!

E-ring = engagement ring? I kept wondering what this term meant, so many short cuts to wedding slang!

Are you having your rings fused before or after ceremony or ever? I think I will have them fused before but then I won't have my ring for a week before the wedding... I've heard if you wait though it's bad for the rings. I have to find a fake CZ for the honeymoon anyways...
