I have white gold so I’m not sure, but I have heard generally to add $1000.00 to the price of any setting for platinum.

I had mine changed from white gold to platinum and it cost $500.

When you change over do they just remake the entire setting?

^ Yes, they would have to remake the setting in platinum. White gold cannot be changed; it can be rhodium plated, which only lasts until the plating wears away.

courtneylc:  You can have that done, but the ring will obviously have to be remade with platinum. The cost will be however much platinum is needed to make you ring. Right now Platinum is around $1400 an oz. While gold is around $1300 an oz. right now. But remember that price for gold is 24 karat not 14 karat. So that means less gold in a ring, an in essence being less than $1300 an oz. It all depends on how much platinum is needed to make your ring.

If this does not make sense I can explain better/more. Just let me know.
