Would an ivory garter look weird with a white (like super bright white) wedding dress? A lot of the pretty, vintage-y garters I love on Etsy are ivory and while some are available in white, I think the ivory is prettier and more “heirloom” looking. Ideally, I would like to wear it at my boudoir shoot too but for that, I’m in ivory. The prices for these are a little steep (for the ones I like), so either I would have to buy a set and see if they will include one white and one ivory and wear two different ones, or pick white or ivory.

Hmm.. I would say just pick the one you like BEST which looks to be the ivory one. I feel it would make more impact for your boudior shoot, colour matches and all but probably not as important on your wedding day for you’ll be tossing it away anyway! (and nobody will be paying attention to the colour of it with all that excitment right?) 🙂 You could always save the money on something else more important.

Personally, no one is really going to see the garter so go with what you want. I have an ivory dress, but have a bright white garter that has a splash of plum on it! I LOVE Michaels!

@momolove: Thanks for the input! Yes, I like the look of the ivory ones much better because they look more high-end and heirloom, as compared to the white versions. I’m not actually tossing it; it’s more just for photos and “just because”.
@mvest: I’m glad I won’t be the only one “mismatched”.
