Maybe this is a myth. My dress was ivory, his shirt was white, we looked fine. I worried about it too, but you couldn't tell at all. Every bride I know that wore ivory has been worried, and their pictures all turned out just fine! Good to know, huh?!! :)
The people at the tux place told my fiance to wear a white shirt and an ivory vest. They said that would make my ivory gown and his ivory vest "pop." All of the guys will be wearing white shirts.
I heard this, too, but I can't tell in any of our wedding pictures. For the most part, my husband's vest covered up the shirt. I think it's only true if he was just wearing a white shirt and your ivory dress was a very distinct color of ivory. To me, most ivory gowns just looks like a "soft" white anyway.
thank you!! this makes me feel much better. My dress is a very light silk ivory as well, its just not white or as white as his shirt. When we looked at suits they put an ivory tie with the white shirt and I thought it looked good but I wasnt sure how it would look with the dress.
a million thanks!!!
I'm glad this was brought up, I was slightly concerned...good to know it won't be an issue!

Hi All,
Any brides out there with an ivory dress and the groom is wearing a white shirt? I have been hearing from people that that combination makes the wedding dress look 'dirty' because it's next to a white shirt.
thanks!
