I don’t have an eye to see a difference and make an opinoun. Can you post a picure of the dress?

What’s your coloring like? If you have a lighter complection, go with ivory….if you have a darker skin tone order white

If your choice is between a very stark, bright white and a light ivory (what is also often called “diamond white”), I would go with the light ivory.  If, however, your choices are a soft white or a darker, yellowish-toned ivory, I would go with the lighter color.

I just saw the dress online.  I will say that I know nothing about Allure, but, the fact that the colors are listed as “white” and “ivory” makes me think that the ivory may be a bit darker than a light ivory (which almost looks white.) Although most brides look best in a diamond white/light ivory vs. either a stark white or a darker ivory, the fact that you could be getting a darker colored ivory would concern me. Perhaps the bridal salon can order a swatch of the exact fabric in both colors for you so that you’ll know exactly what you would be receiving (or perhaps the store has a different Allure dress style, but in the same fabric, in the ivory color, that you could see?)

@MusiqueEstVie:  I was interested in an organza Allure and tried on their ivory sample.  Allure’s ivory is actually very very white IMO, especially when I compared it to another dress I liked such as an ivory organza Pronovias which was a much richer ivory.

For organza and lace, ivory is actually the more popular choice and photographs quite white.  White lace tends to fall flat and doesn’t have the richness of ivory lace.  I would try to track down an Allure in both white and ivory in your fabric choice so you can see and decide yourself!

That all depends on your skin tone and overall color. For me personally I am more tan/dark haired and looked awful in white dresses. I opted for an alabaster color instead to compliment my complexion. I would recommend doing the same.

I’m a fan of diamond white… stark white is so bright and ivory is so yellow but if those were the only options id say white.
