Have you ever worn a white wedding dress? Did the color suit you?
I think white is gorgeous but it does not look good against my skin at all. I just cannot carry it off.
If you have tried white and it worked then I dont see why this dress would be any different. Some woman can wear the color (like my FMIL-she looks LOVELY in white~) while others cant (I look washed out and odd).
Good luck. I hope someone who has the dress can give their 2cents.
I second what @shadowz said. If white looks good against your skin tone, go for it--but if ivory suits you better, no one will be able to tell the difference anyway unless you give them a swatch to compare to. Don't worry about what your parents think; go with what looks best on you!
You posted this in African American, so I am assuming you are AA. If you are, I would go for the white! It sounds like that is what you always imagined yourself wearing and it will likely be gorgeous against your skin tone.
The model is probably wearing ivory, as that is what is usually shown.
Ivory looks like white. I doubt anyone would call my ivory dress anything but white lol
That said, if you want white, get it! I think the model in the picture is wearing ivory though.
Thanks for your thoughts, guys... keep em coming.
Attached is a pic of my skin tone in the Ivory dress... Still debating on White vs Ivory... Sure wish there was a dress to try on in White... Or a person with pics wearing the white dress.

@lagemmapreziosa: Now that I see you in the ivory, I think you can definitely pull off the white! The dress looks beautiful on you.
I'm wearing a champagne/ivory dress and from all the photographers that I've spoke with, regarding shooting brides of color, the contrast looks great in photos.
But if your heart is set on white I think you'll look stunning! :) Go with what you want -- you won't regret it!
I think white is beautiful. I have a dark olive skin color and while my dress is ivory (it was bought on a sample sale), I miss the pop that white gave me. If you can pull of white (and not all brides can), I say go for it! I think white often looks great against darker skin tones.
I think if you can pull off white go for it!! Much easier to coordinate flower girls dresses and your mans suit/tux. I had to get an ivory dress similar to the color you are showing there (which basically looks white just not super bright) and I love it but I am super white so I didn't really have a choice LOL
we have the same skin tone and white looks great on me the dress you are wearing looks white to me but white would look even better i think
Have you ever considered trying on a different gown in white in the shop just to see what the colour itself looks like on you?
By the look of the photo white would look great on you, but if you want more confirmation yourself, try on anything in white and see what it looks like on you. I'm sure it looks great anyway :)
Trying on a similar dress in white is a good suggestion. White looks gorgeous against dark skin, so I'm sure it'll be beautiful!

Has anyone purchased or worn the Enzoani Cambridge dress in White (as opposed to Ivory)???
The dress looks great on me and is my top choice, but the shop at which I found it only has it in Ivory. I was truly hoping for a WHITE wedding dress. My parents are both ministers at my church, and, as much as I'd love to glide down that aisle with my gorgeous antique white/ivory gown on...I just don't know how that would go over...
I'm too scared to purchase the dress in white without actually trying it on or at least hearing about other people's experiences (and hopefully viewing pictures) with this dress in White.
Thanks!
PS: The model in the picture attached does NOT do the dress justice (Having curves truly transforms this dress)... Also, I can't really tell if the model in their photo is wearing white or ivory... I'm thinking that's white?
