I am going to a wedding in 2 weeks and have found a bandage dress to wear that I love but I am a little lumpy and bumpy and I know a pair of tummy tamers would fix it. Problem is, are spanx actually comfortable? I do not want to spend a bunch of money on them and find out they are awful to wear.
Anyone out there actually own spanx?

Yes, I own them and no, they aren’t comfortable! They are worth it, though.

I love my spanx and wear them to most events. They aren’t super comfy but they do the job.

I don’t wear spanz often. Usually only if I’m wearing something really tight and I’m bloated because it’s that time of the month. But I actually find them really comfortable. I like the secure feeling they give you knowing nothing is poochy or hanging out. totally worth it.

I love my spanx. I dont have a problem with them. They make my jeans come on so much easier and they make me look better. I never really pay attention to comfort..lol

I have the knock-off spanx shorts from Target. I wear them under unlined work pants (cheap ones without lining show EVERYTHING) and some dresses. They work best at smoothing things out and providing some modesty from any VPL. I find them… decent to wear. Not super comfortable but I do forget about them for a while.

they’re not so comfortable that you’ll want to go to a buffet in them, but they aren’t so uncomfortable that it will ruin your mood that day. lol they really do the job though.

I wear spanx occasionally with tight dresses or skirts. I don’t find them to be too uncomfortable. Definitely worth wearing to avoid feeling self-conscious.

I don’t mind the suck-you-iness of them at all, my problem is they always roll down in the back. Even with the straps that hook on the bra.

I don’t. I hate them. I like to be comfortable. I’m fat. I admit it. Spanx isn’t going to make me look skinny, it’s just going to smooth out my fat and make it impossible to breathe. No thanks.
This reminds of a blog I saw in the summer.

I wear them when I wear tight dresses. They’re not that bad, towards the end of the night you might be feeling particularly tight because you’re getting more bloated from eating and the like. But, at that point, maybe it’s time to go home! lol

@MrsBlueSeptember: LMAO. I don’t own that type of Spanx. I own a pair that looks like bikini bottom underwear, only the extend all the way to the bottom of my bra. And, they have those that have clips so you can attach your bra to them so nothing shifts. I just adjust myself in the bathroom if I have to. It really stays up pretty well. The only thing it sucks in/smooths out is the waist area.

@MrsBlueSeptember: I laughed so hard tea came out my nose!
Spanx isn’t too bad actually. I wear it during pms

I have a pair of off brand ones. They aren’t super comfy but damn they look good! Seriously. Transformational at making me look like there is no pooch. The only garmet that makes my tummy look flatter is my wedding dress. If you just need a little boost they are a great idea, but I know I personally wouldn’t wear them daily like some PPs

They are NOT comfortable, if you buy the right size. You can buy them a size up and they’ll feel a bit more comfortable, but then they won’t do their job as good.
I find after a couple glasses of wine I kind of forget about them 🙂
