Hair/Makeup was going to be with Caitlin Murphy (she's awesome, if you're still looking!), but then a friend of the family offered to do it for free, so I'm taking her up on it. That saves a few hundred, easily!
Honeymoon - Costco Travel
Hope that helps!
PrettyKitty -- I have a friend who was married last summer down on the cape and her officiant was Lucien Poyant and his website is http://www.jppoyant.com/. He was a GREAT officiant and I know he usually likes to stay "on-cape" or I would be using him for mine! He really helped them create a perfect ceremony that was personal and beautiful.
Future Mrs Lerman -- Thanks for all the sharing -- where and when is your wedding? You seem to be ready to go!!
If you are still looking for a florist, we used The Tangled Web, Jennifer is the owner and she was so great and I thought reasonably priced. We had a lot of stuff for under $2000....I want to say $1600? As for hair and makeup, we used Wedding Tresses, because they come to you. That is by far one of the best things to do. We all looked great, if I do say so myself, and when in my friends wedding we also had them.
Dress - I got my dress at Marry & Tux in Nashua, NH. They are great!
DJ - Locomotion (http://www.locomotiondj.com/) Ernie is fabulous. I've seen him at another wedding and he is very personable, kind and helpful.
Flowers - Still looking. We've checked out Belvedere in Lowell, MA, but weren't completely thrilled. Loved Feeney in Chelmsford, but they only have FTD pictures to look at and I'm a little afraid they won't come out the way that I want them to. We've got two others on our short list and I'm putting them off and off...
Engagement/Wedding rings - I used to sell jewelry so I know my diamonds. FI had a list of "approved stores" where he could go, but I think we both knew we wanted to use Hannoush. My ring is grogeous and was VERY reasonable. I found the perfect band to go with it (not an easy feat as I wanted it to fit perfectly) and they were very patient with FI's requests for a custom band.
Tuxes - Men's Wearhouse. I wasn't all that thrilled with the service or the selection, but it was nationwide and they matched the bridesmaids' dresses.
Bridesmaid's dresses - I was going to to go Marry & Tux, but I ended up winning a $500 gift certificate to David's Bridal so I contributed that to the BM dresses and they ended up spending next-to-nothing.
Shoes - I found the perfect pair of gorgeous red shoes that I saw in a magazine 3 years ago on ebay for $10!
BM shoes - David's Bridal. The maids tried them on with the dresses and they were a hit.
Photography - We're using Erik from A Thousand Moments. The pics on his site are GREAT!
Still in progress on everything else!
My wedding is next summer on the south shore. I'd prefer not to say exaclty when and where....Hope that's cool :)
I still have to get wedding bands, shoes (is there a such thin as comfortable shoes!), figure out makeup, make a chuppah, invitations, design our cake (we have the baker), do programs and escort cards....

A few updates to mine!
Tuxes - Men's Wearhouse. Not entirely thrilled with them so far, but groomsmen are around the country, so didn't really have other options. Still unsure about the ivory or white shirt - my dress is ivory and they were insisting the shirts should be too. But to me, they looked yellow.
Dress #2 - Marry & Tux, NH. So far had a great experience there, but still waiting a few more months for my dress to come in! I'm cutting it very close!
Alterations - No longer using Sienna in Wayland. I had a less than stellar experience with her and think she did a not so great job on my first dress, and part of the reason why I bought a second dress. Need a new seamstress now!
Invitations - Finally ordered invitations from Discount Invitations USA.
Hair and Makeup change too. I just couldn't seem to get the hairstyle I wanted from Caitlin. Although she's super sweet, I couldn't commit to her. Makeup will be by Brea Cherne - www.makeupbybrea.com and Hair with Heather at Visions Salon in Canton.
Things are coming along!! Happy planning!
Wow ladies -- you guys are all rocking OUT with your planning! Thank goodness I still have a ton of time of else I'd probably be going crazy! I am so excited to browse all these vendors!

Humarockbride - I got my dress at Country Weddings also! I love that shop. It was just the nicest experience ever and the girl even teared up when I got teared up when I found my dress!
Most other vendors will be in Hawaii, but I'll prob do my invites and get other things in the Boston area so I'll let you all know when I do!
aloweha -- Did you work with Jenn?? She is fabulous. She got so excited for me and she seemed sincere!
So - I'm curious/nosey - you're from Boston and the wedding is in Hawaii -- why the Sydney Australia for your location?
humarockbride: I don't remember her name. There were 2 of them there at the time, I'll have to check when I go back to pick it up. But I felt like they were so sincere as well. And just spent as much time with me as I needed answering questions, debating sizes. Then let me put the dress back on after we paid for it and took pictures for me! Oh and did you get the adorable box of chocolates when you bought your dress?!
Yes so I am from Boston but I live in Sydney with my Aussie FI. We're getting married in Hawaii because it's a halfway point between the two. Instead of making one family travel really far, we're making both travel a bit! Is the location in our profile supposed to be for where the wedding is or where we are currently? I have no idea! :)
Oh it's not "supposed" to be anything!! I think some people like to have it as the location of the wedding so that others who are getting married in the same place can chat with them about vendors -- but with you, it looks like you're all over the place so stick with whatever you want! there's no "rule" I was just curious.
And no! I didn't get any chocolate! Hey what tha!?! :) Only joking, I haven't picked mine up yet, maybe I get them then? I hope not though, cause I want to look GOOD in the dress, the less chocolates the better!
One of my high school best friends moved to Sydney with her boyfriend for two years, she finally convinced him to come to the US last summer because her family (and friends!) missed her ... but she says she still misses Australia!
We're planning on moving back to Boston once we're married but it was just easier, with visas and all, for me to live here for now. I love it though and will definately miss it here!
Hey Ladies, I just got back from Country Weddings in Hingham! It was so cute! I think I worked with Lauren, she was awesome. Honest, patient, and so sweet. I ended up with an Alvina Valenta also, what style did you end up with Humarock and Aloweha?
Which AV did you get? Mine is Christos Bridal, Gwenyth. The link is below but mine is all irovy, not ecru. Also it is not at all as weird shiny as the runway pic makes it look!
Mine is alvina valenta as well -- I looove her stuff! I'm actually getting mine custom made ... long story short it is ...
the bodice of: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Additional/Style-9600
but with straps similar to: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Additional/Style-9661
and the skirt of: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Fall/2008/Style-9859
What style is your dress?!
Humarock: Wow- thats going to be stunning!! You'll have to post pictures when it's all done!
I went with http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Spring/2009/Style-9904
it wasn't the first dress I tried on, but when I was talking to my consultant Debby (the shop owner) herd what I liked and said "make sure she tries on the new Alvina..." I didn't choose it and was trying on my last dress when Lauren (the awesome consultant) pulled it out and we decided just to try it. It was dead on. She knew I'd love it and I did. She really knows what type of dress will go with your personality.
Oh wow!! MissBookworm that is soo pretty! It seems like Alvina's stuff just keeps getting better. I love all the 2009 dresses, I almost wish I waited a bit to buy my dress but ... NO I'm happy with mine! hehe.
I seriously love the girls at Country Weddings. They are all so very sweet. I am currently on the look out for my bridesmaid dresses and they are being so incredible about it. Helping in every way they can -- I mean I know they want me to make the sale at their shop so they get the money, but that's fine with me since they are so great about helping me get exactly what I want. They were the ones who suggested the custom design, and I was sold instantly!

Hi Boston Bees
I tried this a few months ago but I think I wrote too much and scared everyone away from responding :) And there seems to be a lot more activity on the Boston board recently so I thought I'd try again.
I was wondering if everyone would share their wedding vendors? We still have a lot more vendors to get and I love to hear people's first hand experiences.
Our wedding!
Date: January 2, 2010
Location: Seaport World Trade Center
DOC: Comes with the Seaport - Nicole - so far she is great!
Photographer: MKDPhotography.com -- setting up our engagement session date now! They are the nicest couple!
Save the Date (and most likely invite) Design: www.jsullivandesign.com ... she is fairly new to wedding invitations but is a seasoned graphic designer really looking to expand. She will do whatever you want!
DJ: Brett from CrackerJack Entertainment
Dress: Country Weddings in Hingham -- it's being custom made right now by Alvina Valenta -- I can't wait! The women there are so helpful and it's small and intimate but has a lot of choices.
That's what we have so far ... I'd love to hear about your officiants, florists, hair & makeup, and rehearsal dinner locations!
Thanks!!!!!!
