Venue - Briscoe Manor. Very complete package for the price. Lesli was great to work with and she acts as DOC as part of your price. Very organized and the property and buidlings look just like their pictures online.
Caterer - Behind the Bash. Rachel was willing to accomodate any request and had great suggestions. People are still mentioning the food quality and taste.
DJ - Rock N Robin. We had a slight hiccup in the beginning booking the person we wanted but it all worked out great. He listened to what we wanted and did exactly that. They are also great at making sure the bride and groom always have the drink they want, not what I expected in a DJ, but a pleasant surprise.
Florist - Last Petal. Melanie was my favorite vendor to work with. She is very laid back and has such great taste. She isn't local (LaGrange) but she services both the Houston and Austin areas.
Cake - Who Made the Cake. Nadine knows her stuff. Great samples too. We shopped around for cakes before going to Nadine and her level of service far outweighed others we had spoken with. They looked and tasted great too.
Dress/BM Dresses - Louise Blum. If you can afford it, do it. Leslie was a blast to work with and knows the design stories of a lot of the gowns, which is fun the hear. She makes you very comfortable and the customer service is great. They worked with my out of town bridesmaids as well, which took the stress off of me.
Shoes - Allens Boot Company (Austin). I wanted a certain pair of Old Gringo boots and one of the few places close was in Austin. They ordered them for me on the spot and I had them within 3 days. I still get compliments on the boots.
Hair Stylist and Make Up Artist - Tree Vaello. The trial was great and the day of was so-so. Don't get me wrong, I looked and felt great but on the day of, we chose to go to her studio and she booked a fashion shoot for later that day so not only were we (myself and my bridal party) there but also several photographers, stylists, and models. Not what I'd call a relaxing environment.
Invitations/Programs - Invitation Solutions. Kristen was great and open to requests. When something showed up a little less in count that what was ordered, it was fixed right away, no questions. She even helped me custom design note cards for one of my bridesmaids.
Let me know if any of you want a more personal description or to see pictures.
I would love to come to Houston and shoot your beach wedding. We have beach weddings all the time in Charleston.
Venue/Catering: The Houstonian Hotel (great service, great venue!)
DJ: Ultimate Sound Source
Florist: Simply Charming Flowers (LOVE LOVE LOVE her!)
Cake: Susie's Cakes (beautiful work and delicous! The cake is part of my package with the Houstonian)
Everything else I am doing from the DC area which is where I currently live but I'm getting married at home in Houston.
Good luck to you!
Venue - Agave Road in Katy - Love at first site with this place, can't wait to get married there! Steve is super nice to work with.
Caterer - Ciro's is doing fajitas for us (included in my Agave Road package)
Coordinator - ended up firing her. PM me if you want her name. Tip: Check BBB before hiring ANYONE. I would recommend talking to the girls at TwoBeWed - they are very nice, and have helped me in other ways.
Photographer - Chip at Studio 563
DJ - Will Everett (he used to work for DJs Unlimited), (included with Agave Road Package)
Florist - Striking Stems - love them! They are sooo nice!
Cake - Edible Designs by Jessie (included with Agave Road Package)
Officiant - Geoff Bynum at Access Wedding Pastors (included with Agave Road Package)
Dress - Brickhouse Bridal in the Woodlands. I went EVERYWHERE though - my faves were Brickhouse, Houston Bridal & Formal Gallery, & Ventura's. They had the best customer service (Weddings by Debbie was the worst)
Shoes - DSW (on the clearance rack!) with added ribbon roses bought on etsy.com
BM Dress - Ann Taylor at the Galleria (check the clearance rack - got gorgeous 100% silk dresses for $19.99 each!)
Hair & Make-up - Blush & Glow (Artee) - Super nice! Went out of her way to make sure I was happy with my trials.
Invitations - Spice Paper Designs - I love Becca!!!
Others:
Alterations - Beautiful U (Arlene) - haven't gotten my dress back yet, but MANY people recommended her to me
Limo - A-Classic Limousines
Rehearsal Dinner - Grappino di Nino's
Sunday morning-after Brunch - Chatter's
Hope that helps! :)
My wedding is technically in Crosby, but I went to Houston for the cake and my dress.
Cake - Cakes by Gina...only place we went. Loved the cake, loved the price.
Both my dress and MOH's dress - Houston Bridal & Formal Gallery. I haven't had any issues for my dress so far. However, my MOH ordered the size they recommended for her, and it is going to require MAJOR alterations. It doesn't fit her at all...it is like she is wearing a large bag instead of a fitted dress. She hasn't lost any weight or anything, so I'm not sure why the size doesn't match her measurments like they said it would. We haven't taken it in for the alterations, but we are hoping that they will be willing to work with us on the alteration costs.
Pelikila I would love to see some of your pictures from Briscoe Manor. I'm looking into them and am curious what you thought about the venue and how it turned out. Did you get married inside the chapel or outside at the gazebo? You can just PM me with your thoughts.
I'm also curious as to whether anyone in the Houston area has any videographer suggestions.
Here are my vendors. I haven't chosen allof the vendors I'll need, but I'm really happy with these so far.

My wedding was a couple months ago, and I loved all of my vendors. They all did a fantastic job. PM me if you have questions about any of them.
So my wedding was originally going to be in Galveston, but due to unforeseen circumstances it moved to Houston so here is my update to my vendors!
@Pelikila: Hi! I know you posted this almost a year ago, but I was wondering if you happen to have any pictures of your hair and makeup? I'm thinking about using Tree Vaello as well, but most of her website is dedicated to her photoshoot work and I'd love to see some of her bridal work?
Thank you!

Venue - THE BELL TOWER ON 34TH -- I love my venue! This was the first venue that I visited and nothing that I saw after could match it! Lezlie is my account manager and she has been awesome thus far. (www.thebelltoweron34th.com)
Caterer - THE BELL TOWER ON 34TH -- I haven't had my tasting yet but I've heard awesome things about the chef. We are going with a cajun inspired menu...yummy.
Coordinator - EVENTS BY EDG -- I am lucky that one of my best friends in the world is one of the "designer girls" of the Event Design Group. (www.eventsbyedg.com)
Photographer - STUDIO563 -- Andy himself is driving down to shoot my wedding. I feel so lucky! He shot my best friend's wedding and was such a joy. During our initial meeting, he treated me to cupcakes. (www.studio563.com)
Videographer - T2 PRODUCTIONS -- A former colleague is following his passion and is an amazing videographer. Seriously, I didn't want a video until I saw his work. (www.t2production.com)
DJ - DEF JAM BLASTER -- My fiance made this decision. I wanted Rob G from the 97.9. We took a vote among friends and Blaster won. (www.defjamblaster.com)
Florist - SIMPLY CHARMING FLOWERS -- Laura was the the first florist that I met with. She is very thorough. I love her! (www.scf.smugmug.com)
Cake - SUMPREME KAKES -- Okay. So I've had my fair share of wedding cake. After one bite of SK's italian creme cake, my eyes rolled back in my head and I asked for seconds. This bakeries cakes are that good. The baker has been baking for over 15 years but just opened her bakery a year ago. Her recipes and designs can easily compete with some of Houston's more well known cake vendors. (www.supremekakes.com)
Officiant - family member
Dress - HANNELORE'S -- I am originally from the Washington DC area. I was in town for my engagement party and made an appointment to try on gowns. Up until then, I hadn't met a wedding dress that I liked for myself. As luck would have it, I found my dress. There are only two gowns in that particular style that are in the United States!! My stylist Kim was ahhh-mazing. Adore her. (www.hannelores.com)
Shoes - SAK's -- I hope. I really want these Jimmy Choos but they are kinda sold out in my size and color.
Bridesmaid Dresses - PEARL'S PLACE -- Pearl's is actually located outside of New Orleans. However, they offer special "mail order" pricess that are significantly lower than the retail price. (www.pearlsplace.com)
Makeup - DEVIN HARVEY -- I found Devin via Wedding Wire. She responded to all of my emails and questions in a very timely manner. I will be signing my contract with her this fall when she does my makeup for our engagement shoot.
Invitations - HEARTCARRY PRESS -- I found my invitation designer through my coordinator. These girls are awesome! I highly recommend them. (www.heartcarrypress.com)
Hotel Block - HOTEL SORELLA -- I knew that this was the hotel for my guests the moment that I walked into this fresh modern hotel. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops within walking distance. Perfect for all of my OOTs. (www.hotelsorella-citycentre.com)
@legallyspoiled: I just noticed how long my list was, lol. I couldn't help it. Honestly, I am dang proud of my vendor list because I love all of my vendors so much!!
we're still in the early early stages of planning, but we're looking at the AF Bruce religion center at UH for the ceremony, and the Alden hotel for the reception - if anyone has info on either place, pass it along!
I thought I'd add mine to the list, since I know how helpful other people's reviews and notes were when I was hunting for vendors! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about any of them - I was really happy with all of my vendors!
Venue - the *amazing* Sycamore Heights (sycamoreheights.com). Love them! Gorgeous house, beautiful yard, sweetest proprietors ever, soooo happy I found this venue!
Caterer - Massoud Catering (www.massoudcatering.com/. Great food, friendly service, were willing to work with my tiny budget; they also did my cousin's all-out super-posh wedding three weeks before and the food got rave reviews then too, so they sure must know what they're doing!
Coordinator - Kayleigh at Lovely (lovelyevents.co/
Photographer - Josselyn Peterson (www.josselynpeterson.com/
Officiant - Jeff from We Do... I Dos (www.wedoidos.net/
BM Dress - Etsy and Saks Off Fifth. Can't complain, everyone was gorgeous and happy (I think)!
Hair Stylist and Make-Up Artist - Alecia from Flawless (areyouflawless.com/
Florist - all DIY (stock from Kroger, baby's breath from a flower wholesaler on Fannin - would have been cheaper through Kroger, actually, had I gotten my act together and ordered them in advance!)
Ok we're not quite done yet but here's what I have so far:
Venue: Amber Springs, Montgomery, TX
Catering: Carol's Catering (she's also doing the cakes)
Photographer: Shelly Kutina, Kutina Photography (very very reasonable in prices and great pics!)
Florists: DIY and choosing a florist for our bouquet's
DJ: Dan Tana (actually came with the caterer's package, we saved a TON of money!)
Still looking into an officiant and florist... and we need to rent linens in the Conroe/Spring area if anyone has some info on a vendor! :)
Thanks!! "KK"
I am doing a lot of projects myself such as the invitations and programs.

Venue (ceremony and reception), decorations, tables and chairs and covers, dj, caterer, coordinator: Cleopatra's Palace Package
Photography: In talks with Chip Gillespie
Cake: Timtations (cost included with the Cleopatra's Palace package)
Bridal Dress: Alfred Angelo near Willowbrook Mall
The remaining items (florist, BM dresses, tuxedos, etc) are still being decided.
OK ladies and gents. Here is the information from my wedding and a few suggestions that I may have to those of you who may need my advice. After a year of planning I think I may can help.
Venue: Lone Star Community Center in Montgomery, TX. It's a new building with very reasonable price.
Caterer: I used IncEdible Delights. They were great! I got the menu that I wanted at a decent price and it was good quality and quanity for my guests. www.incredibledelights.net
Florist: I did my own flowers. If anyone needs any help I wouldn't mind helping.
DJ: I used the Look of Entertainment. They were very professional and worked with me on a playlist to suit my needs. www.thelookofentertainment.com
Photography: I used The Look of Perfection. Austin was the photographer and did a really good job on our photos. www.thelookofperfection.com
Wedding Cordinator: Kathy Lookofsky of InrEdible Delights.
IncEdible Delights, The Look of Entertainment, and The Look of Perfection are all owned by the same person, Kathy Lookofsky. She gave me a great deal since I booked all of my services with her. She also was my wedding cordinator and did a fantastic job. My wedding was in Montgomery, but if you are looking more in the Houston area she has just opened a venue of her own that is beautiful, I wish she had had it when I was lookingj for my venue. Its the old Atascocita Country Club, now known as The Club at Atascocita.
