iarebridezilla:  i used to be OBSESSED with one mr. johnny depp. i was fangirling before i knew it was a thing. i could tell you every movie he was in (and about 21 jump street before that). i could tell you his kids’ names (lily rose and jack), and about how it was SOOOOOOO stupid that he was with that french chick (oh you know, his baby mama vanessa paradis) when he could be with ME. i mean hello! i was well versed in his tattoos–even the ones he had covered or redone. wino forever, anyone?

now, i tend to stalk imdb but it’s not for anyone in particular. i’ll be watching a movie or binging on a series (cough OITNB cough) and be curious about an actor, then i’ll search them, read their whole life story, and click through subsequent links about costars, etc. i acquire a LOT of useless knowledge this way.

Hands down, Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys. Up until he married his first wife (you know, since I’ll be the second), my 12 year-old self was convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that I absolutely would marry him. I remember crying my eyes out when I found out he was engaged.

Let’s see…he was born February 20, 1975 in Lexington Kentucky…..had herat surgery after getting really sick at 5 and almost died. He was born with a heart murmur. He joined the backstreet boys in his senior year of high school after his cousin Kevin called him to join. Favourite colour was blue and food was mac and cheese. Basketball is his favourite sport. Has one older brother. Has a serious love of Jesus.

…I am embarassed that I didn’t have to look any of that up.

iarebridezilla:  Oh, I would have been pretty furious about that too!

I still totally love them, and if/when they come to town I always go…I feel that I owe it to my teenage self. I also met Brian a few years ago, and he easily weighed twenty pounds less than me. It kinda killed it for me. Luckily for my husband this occured before our wedding, so he was truly able to be my one and only when we got married :p

Freddie Mercury… Most charismatic frontman that ever lived…

Heck, all members of the band Queen was extremely talented. Interesting fact, while most celebrities to be honest are not very bright, but all of Queen’s members graduated from top universities’s in the UK. John Deacon (bassist) had a degree in electronics from King’s College, Roger Taylor (drummer) had a degree in Biology from London Med School, while Brian May (leadguitarist) had a bloody Phd in Astrophysics from Imperial college.

Explains the wonderful, intricate lyrics of Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, and such… (most single handedly composed by Mercury by the way)… Can’t believe the amount of external composers and producers required to produce crappy songs these days…

iarebridezilla:  I have recently become obsessed with Brandi Carlile.  She’s an indie folk/rock singer from Seattle WA.  Someone gave me an album of her b/c they thought it’d be up my ally and that was that!  I got everything she’d ever recorded from that point on and had the good forturne of being able to see her live last summer.  She’s actually BETTER in concert than on the album, if that’s even possible.

At that show I found out that she is also a philanthropist, and the founder of the Looking Out Foundation http://lookingoutfoundation.org/

She married her partner Catherine Shepard in 2012 and the two welcomed a baby girl this June!!  It’s causing a bit of delay in a new album release and limited touring, but I’m not mad 🙂

Her music is inspiring, her vocal talents are ridiculous and she seems like an all around regular person with a big heart.

Oh, and along with her she has “the twins” Phil and Tim Hanseroth.  They’re identical, it’s freaky, and their harmonies are hauntingly good.

Fun fact: her sister is actually married to one of the twins (IDK which one) so they’re literally a family.

Favorite songs: Dying Day, Before it Breaks, Dreams, Hiding My Heart Away, The Story (probably most popular), Before it Breaks, Josephine, Losing Heart, Cannonball…
